Is it true that you can be a good person, but if you are not a Christian, God will still send you to hell for all eternity? I know it sounds rude, but I've always wondered, but I never had the guts to ask a devoted Christian face to face.......

I was raised to believe that if you don't believe in g-d you will not go to heaven. I can't say if you won't, I have a hard time believing my g-d would damn a soul that is good based upon that one condition. The Christians believe if you don't take Jesus as your saviour you are going to hell. I again don't believe that. Think about the 6 millions Jews that died in Nazi warcamps, do you think g-d will damn them because they didn't believe in Jesus, but died because they believed in g-d? I don't. There are many people who claim to believe in g-d, but don't, and they are definately not good people and do things that are considered immoral. If you believe in g-d and you are a good person, he knows. If you are a good person and you don't believe in g-d, he knows that too. But according to the Christian bible there will be a rapture where all the good people will be taken and those that are left behind will be the non-believers and not good people. They will supposedly have a second chance to believe and be good. So, no I do not believe that if you are not a Christian you will go to hell.

God did not say if you were not Christian you are going to hell...

If you are truly wondering about Christianity you should find a Christian and ask them "Face to Face" all you will get here is sarcasm and hatred from people who do not know the first thing about Christianity, and I think they said they don't believe in God, so therefore how can they tell you about him. I am starting to wonder if the so called Atheist are Christian them selves since they seem to be answering questions meant for believers. I am not Atheist so I couldn't tell you the first thing about it and I really wouldn't try out of respect, you do not have to be religious to have RESPECT. So if you really want to know about God it would be best to ask Godly people, and then may be you will get an answer to your question, instead of a bunch of people trying to convert you into their beliefs...

I don't believe that God sends anyone to hell, and even if God did, I doubt that not being a Christian would be enough to warrant a trip. I believe that a person's actions, thoughts, and beliefs are what sends them to hell. If someone, Christian or not, lives a life where s/he treats other people badly, does bad things, and has no regrets about any of it, then when that person dies s/he has no room in his/her heart for God. That's all hell is - the complete and utter absense of the presence of God. And since God is all-loving and mercifuly, God wouldn't take Himself away from us.

Ok... Where to start on this...

Ok, first I'll mention that I'm not a Christian, I'm actually a very devoted Druid. My feelings on the subject on who is allowed in Heaven, Summerland, Asgard, or whatever holy great beyond afterlife you believe in. Everyone has the desire to reach their peak in spiritual enlightenment, the path doesn't matter, just the fact that you get there. You don't have to be a Christian to fulfill your spiritual needs. You can be a Druid, Mormon, Agnostic, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, or a Taoist. It doesn't matter. All long as your happy with yourself spiritually, thats what matters. The reason I feel this way is simple, my religion does not recognize a hell in the belief system.

If you do not accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior, well you know the rest.
All you have to do is believe with all your heart. It's that easy.
All you have to do is repent for your sins to Jesus, and your good to go.No,your problems in your life won't go away, but you will be eternally safe.Jesus wants repentance, not a decision.

There are going to be a lot of good moral people on judgment day wondering why their being cast into the lake of fire.

Not all Christians believe that.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints teaches that we will be judged according to that which we have been taught. Plus, if someone lived their life without the opportunity to convert, they will be afforded that opportunity in the spirit world. If they reject the message, they will someday face flames of guilt which will burn for all eternity as they realize the opportunity lost.

Ma'am, that is false. Any religion that claims to be the only way to God is a lie.

It is not necessary, but if we would all follow the teachings of Jesus the world would be a better place. Instead, many prefer to follow the teachings of Paul and Mohamed . Both men were male chauvinist homophobes.

Hmm. That IS the effect, but if you are not a friend, what gives you the right into His Home? Do you allow just anyone into YOUR home? Doesn't God have that same right? Hell is just the only other location available. And the pain is mostly due to you kicking yourself for acting so stupidly in life. Why not make the decision now, and BECOME His friend? Then you won't have to worry about it.

I'm too tired to do my usual reply to this, but the gist is that if you read the parable of THE GOOD SAMARA TIN it's pretty clear that Jesus thought it was more important to be a loving compassionate person than to follow rules or be worried about what you call yourself.

I'm a pretty devoted Christian, I preach and minister part time even. But I'm honest to know that I've met pagans, Buddhists and atheists who were better than I am at being a good and loving neighbor to all mankind much of the time. (I'm kinda irritable much of the time.)

PM or email me some time, I'll fill you in more, but I'm at the end of a 10 hour shift...

Be well!

I don't believe there is such a place as "hell"...
There is a "Lake of Fire" into which both death and hell are scheduled to be thrown...and destroyed, along with everything else that causes harm in God's Kingdom.
The key issue there is "causes harm".
What is good does not go into the incinerator...
