So long as the 10% continues to function you will live a normal life span but there must be a reason that only 10% is functioning and that may determine how long you may enjoy life as we know it. At 10% of kidney function all medications that are metabolized by the kidney must have their dose adjusted for your level of functioning. Urine for microscopic amounts of albumin is the most sensitive measure and serum creatinine the least sensitive with 24 hour urine for creatinine clearance being the most accurate but a bit troublesome to collect. only 10%? well they could live a lot longer if they were hooked up to a machine, i can tell you that much but anything else, ask a damn docotr and don't depend on answeres from people around the world that you don't even know. this whole yahoo answers thing is pretty much just good for opinions and not any good for serious answers. oh well..........
