Islam is a great religion that teaches a lot of moral things. But it still got those strings attached! There are things that worked for Muslims in the past but failed in today's Muslim societies. Also there are these needless things that were borrowed from other religions such as intolerance against homosexuals, prohibition of eating pork, ...etc.
Fortunately for you, there are many other Liberal movements within Islam, so you got more better options than just the mainstream Islam (Sunni and Shia). Progressive Muslims are a very good example http://progressivemuslims.org/
You can read the Quran yourself and use the index on USC-MSA website (http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/quranindex.html to examine Islam's stand on various issues.
I used to listen and sometimes read things written by Shaikh Hamza Yusuf, so It would be a good idea if you check http://www.zaytuna.org/video.asp to see a more moderate and comforting view of Islam that might interest you.
A problem that I can see in your question is that you are saying Can I join Islam. No, I am not talking about the "Can", I am talking about the "Join". You can Join Islam if you want (though not sure its the same if you want to leave it). Joining means that you are looking for the best group, and just go with the flow, and believe what they believe (in fact being told what to believe and not to believe!) even if it doesn't seem so realistic.
But is that what you should be looking for ... the group that is better or the ideas that makes more sense? I mean you may one day say that Islam is the best religion there is for moral teachings, but a lot of the things that the religion teaches may not make sense to you, and indeed may forever may be unanswered.
Why is Muhammed the last prophet, Why the Bible was corrupted if it was truly God's word (Muslims believe it was sent to Jesus his prophet, but was later lost or corrupted)? How can Hell be a Just punishment for people like Ghandi who didn't believe in God, but lead a moral life? Not to mention why you "testify that there is no God but Allah" although there isn't enough evidence for that (There may be many more Gods, or no God at all). Now you are free to think and ask, but if you become a Muslim now, asking these questions will be answered by threats of going to Hell (especially if there is no answer to your question).
Since its your personal choice all I can do is recommended a number of books that you could read before making the decision:
-Muhammad: A Biography of the Prophet by Karen Armstrong (Moderate view of Islam by Non-Muslim ) - MUST READ!!
-Muhammad: His Life Based on the Earliest Sources by Martin Lings (For Islam By Muslim)
-Muhammad: Legacy of a Prophet (DVD) (Wonderful view of Islam by Karen Armstrong and a group of prominent Muslims) MUST SEE
-Why I am not a Muslim? by Ibn Warraq (Fiercely against Islam by a Non-Muslim)
Don't forget to check the websites too!
Since you believe in God there is no need for me to push Atheism, but if you are open to ideas then check the Debate "Does God Exist" http://grove.ufl.edu/~hasa/transcript.html and Read the new book by Richard Dawkins "The God Delusion" .

All of Max D's points are excellent, and I strongly recommend you to follow his advice. One thing: I have never seen or heard anything about Islam that discourged asking questions; on the contrary, my religious teachers were very open to all of my questions, and even though I rarely got a completely satisfactory answer, they simply reminded me that there is so much abour the world around us that humanity does not understand when its right in front of us. Why couldn't God, who is so much more mysterious, be one of then? Many question eventually blur the line between religion and philosophy, and as soon as you get there, you're on your own, since there will be no answers.
Point is, converting to any religion, especially Islam, is a tough choice. If you yourself do not feel that passion and complete faith that tells you, that yes, this is the right choice, and *not* just a good enough choice, then convert, please. It will be the best choice for your own good.
As for you bisexuality, nowadays there are many Christians that are homosexual, even though that's supposedly a sin. Personally, I don't see something wrong with it, but it is forbidden, so I really don't know. I think that, if you truly want to believe, then you will find a way to harmonize your sexual preferences with your religious beliefs. And besides, Islam emphasizes chastity outside of marriage, so I'm guessing that goes for both girls and guys.
And you know what? Your DID would be an interesting thing to bring up to an Islamic scholar, and see what he says about that. I'm sure that you're going to need a psychologist as well as a religious leader to help you out on that one. I simply don't know what to tell you concerning that. Islam is huge on shirk, or any worshiping or idolizing of objects at all, so if the Ojibwe religion has any of that, you're going to have to figure something out.
Best of luck there, and if you have any questions at all, feel free to message me.

I don't mean to be offensive at all, but i think you are really stupid and a ********, no kidding.
Do you know what the Koran says muslims should do to homosexuals? They are supposed to be thrown from the tallest building in town. And you see the news that is what ISIS is doing, at first I thought that it was just a terrorist thing, but I did some research, and it is actually in the teachings of the so called prophet Mohammed. And you know what, I feel like not even wasting my time typing here bc maybe you deserve this, since you have failed to do a real research. Look for the videos of David Wood who has posses some of the most analytical thinking and debates with Slam scholars, once you review the material you will realize how stupid it is to even consider to join this cult. Not to mention if you Join and try to leave Muslims has full green light to kill you, as it is also in their holly book, and guess what 80% of Muslims are OK with that, with you being killed. Innocent looking muslim may no inflict harm on you, but they won't feel bad if a no so innocent one does.. I have done quite alot of research on the topic and have watched just about every muslim debate, hey you have access to all that too if you look in youtube. Look for this video
"Was Muhammad a Prophet of God? David Wood vs. Sami Zaatari" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qf3ENGPyd6Y

Well, first of all i would like to say that you cannot mix religions.
Now coming to the point you say you are interested in boys so what to do , as this is stopping you for acepting islam.
In islam Shirk is the most big sin, so what i suggest is to first came at islam and accept it and i think you alrady accepted it.
Now once you accept it and start prayring salat, Quran says that salat stops people from bad things so once you start doing you can your self start feeling guilding on any bad things you have an in few time inshahAllah you will get rid of your sins .
Currently you are not thinking this as sin, but that a big sin but not big as shirk so came to islam and then try to overcome your bad habbids and pray Allah to stop you from those
Allah knows the best

u should leave BI as no religion according to me or many of readers allows to be BI or be homo sexual. u should leave this and come to islam.
it's a true religion teaching peace and the subject of Holy Book QUR'AN is the man. it teaches u the right way. it was revealed around more then 14 centuries ago but it still gives u how to live even in the modernage. it gave u answer to many scientific questions. i's a compelete religion. i advise u to get a QURAN translated in english on the internet as u can't catch it without being pure. and u'll get all ur questions solved in it and then try to go to an islamic centre.
i promise u that if u convert u'll get the strength to leave all this stuff but accept it from ur heart.
if there was any error so i request my muslim bro and sis to tell me on my contact

Think about it in this way.
There must be one correct path from start to the end which God wants all his creation to follow.
So what is the difference between islam, christianity and judiasm. These three religion lie on the same timeline. But some stubborn people refuse to follow the prophets that came next.
Jews stopped at Mosses and did not believe in Jesus and Mohammad.
Christians stopped at Jesus and do not believe in Mohammad.
Muslims believe in all the three.
Now who is in better situation.
Muslims have nothing to loose cause they follow all the teachings of Mosses and Jesus and the teachings of Mohammad have no new concept.
And please do not believe in every thing which others say. Specially something bad about others. You must know from your personal experiance that negative comments about any thing are alomst 80% wrong.

Unlike some practices of Christianity, Islam is a militant religion. Modern Muslim fundamentalists emphasize the militant practice of Islam and try to justify their violence through religion.
"There are Hadiths (Islamic traditions attributed to Muhammad) regarding our struggle against the Jews. And it is given: 'The day of resurrection will not arrive until the Muslims make war against the Jews and kill them, and until a Jew hiding behind a rock and tree, and the rock and tree will say: 'Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him!' This Hadith clarifies to us the characteristics of the campaign between us and the Jews. The tree and the rock do not say 'Oh, Palestinian,' 'Oh Arab,' or 'Oh resident of the Middle East.' Rather they say: 'Oh, Muslim, Servant of Allah.'" (Palestinian TV, March 30, 2001)
And so, those radicals must be stopped at all costs. They wish to Islamize the western world and will stop at nothing, including murder of innocent men, women and children.

Well you can always slowly get away from beig bisexual and become straight. But that's if you can fight, resisting getting with men etc. Just try your best to stay away from this. That's all I can say But at the end, being a bisexual has to stop!! That's forbidden, as some otherhave mentioned, but without proof.
You can become a Muslim if thats what you want. Don't let nothing stop you. Your not making a mistake.
IMPORTANT: read this question and answer. This should answer your question about being a bi and etc. http://islamqa.com/index.php?ref=10050&ln=eng ]
Here is an answer on how to be come a Muslim, also there are some links after the answer that will help you get started off.
Question:
I would like to become a musilim.
Is this possible? And if so, how can this happen. I do not know much.I know some things.
Answer:
Praise be to Allaah.
Any human being can embrace Islam. You do not need anyone’s permission. You simply say and believe that there is No God except Allah and that Mohammad is his Messenger. Once you say this sentence, you automatically become Muslim. From there, you start carrying on with the duties of Islam. You must do what Allah and His messenger tell you to, and stay away from what they tell you to. Islam does not tell you to do anything unless it is good for you. It also does not tell you to stay away from anything unless it is bad for you. You will notice the change in the way you look at things, the minute you become a Muslim. You will feel more relieved and secure only to think that you are fulfilling the orders of Allah. Doing this, you will clearly see the benefits of it for yourself and for mankind. You can embrace Islam in any Islamic center. This is only a formality. Once you say and believe in the Oneness of Allah and in the message of his Prophet Mohammad, then you are a Muslim.
To become a Muslim, simply say the following words:
Ash hadu alla ilaha illa Allah, wa ash hadu anna Mohammadan abduhu wa rasuluhu.
This means I testify and witness that there is no god worthy of being worshipped other than Allah and that Mohammad is his Messenger. You must say it and believe in it.
