LCD is the better overall value.
Plasma has screen burn-in issues.

Plasma's have a lifetime of so many thousand hours which sucks if you watch it alot.
LCD's are very good but nobody knows the lifetime of them yet as they haven't been out long enough as TV's.
CRT is still the best but hard to find these days. Unless you can afford high definition from Sky etc, LCD's are worthless as HD won't be available for years for free, and blue-ray players are well expensive right now. I would personally wait a few years and then laugh at everyone who has outdated and dead TV's.
Another thing, LCD's give off loads of heat but they use less energy than plasma's.

depends on what you consider is better, both are rated at 40,000 - 60,000 hours of life.....plasma has outstanding colors however plasma can get a burn in if you leave the same image on the tv for 4-6 hours.... lcd will not .... lcd cannot produce true black color its more of a grey,... because plasma is a gas the refresh rate is 4-8 miliseconds and the lcd is 8-10 miliseconds ,.... plasma sizes go from 37"-70"
and lcd is 15"-46".... right now the price for 1080p lcd is cheaper than 1080p plasma .... but lcd is more expensive per square inch... well have fun ...

LCD is no good. It absorbs light, rather than reflecting it. So it's harder work for your eyes. Also, a 17" lcd tv is still allowed to come with up to 6 dead pixels, which will never have colour. They will always be white or black dots in your picture.
Get plasma or crt.

LCD is the way to go as they have a longer life than a Plasma, also Plasmas are prone to screen burn if left on the same picture for a long time.

lcd is better. they make better dark contrasts. lcd's are cheaper as factories throw 50 per cent of plasmas in the bin as they are hard to make . also plasmas suffer screen burn so very bad using game consoles or t.v logos.

dont change crt is so much better than plasma or lcd and when this fad is over you'll be laughing cos you saved your money

CRT --- Suxors!!
Plasma --- Good and big, but "burns" easily and brightness decreases over time
LCD --- Best available so far, very expensive, but high quality and viewing angle
