Hey dummy what does the bible say about putting up a tree.
Jeremiah 10:2-4 (NRSV) "Thus says the LORD: Do not learn the way of the nations, or be dismayed at the signs of the heavens; for the nations are dismayed at them. 3 For the customs of the peoples are false: a tree from the forest is cut down, and worked with an ax by the hands of an artisan; 4 people deck it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so that it cannot move."

I like Christmas trees. Christmas trees are from another religion than mine, but that hasn't stopped Christians from putting it up.
I do like the symbolism of life enduring winter.
Christmas is one of the best secular holidays there is. The Christians happen to celebrate the birth of their prophet on this day (even though their books say he wasn't born in winter), but it is really such a small part of Christmas.

Christmas has little to do with christianity. It's more of a cultural holiday than a religious holiday. Also, christmas trees have NOTHING to do with christianity. It comes from viking pagan rituals that some christians took on as they began conquering Europe.

Douglas fir, usually. I find the homes with sticks in the mud are usually the "devout" Christians. After all, the Christmas tree IS a pagan symbol.

It might as well look like the ones everyone else has because Christmas is a pagan holiday.

My family puts up a christmas tree and puts out the nativity and I smile to myself and watch them partake in pagan rituals despite the Bible specifically condemning their participation in pagan rituals and that many of the original martyrs were offered the chance to save their life if they would so much as put one PINCH of incense into the coals in front of a statue, but refused so that they would not be participating in pagan rituals, and paid with their lives.
How's your faith these days? Been reading your Bible much? Did you know that the Jehova's Witnesses actually get this one right, out of all the many, MANY mistakes they make?
Funny that an atheist can see this and you can't.

Possibly the same as any, the season has totally changed.
A pine tree has nothing to do with Jesus, same with Hallmark and Wal-Mart.

A Christmas tree, decorated with lights, ornaments and tinsel. We just don't have a nativity scene depicting the immaginary birth of a myth.
