met this guy at a party last night, one thing led to another and we ended up spending most of the evening together. We then went bar hoping till the early hours and he invited me back to his for more drinking. We ended up sitting on his sofa chatting and holding hands till 5am and then he asked me to stay over promising to be a total gentleman. He was, we went straight to sleep I woke up with him holding me and he kissed me for the first time in the morning. He is off on a boys holiday for 3/4 weeks today, but asked for my number when I left and said he would call me when he got back.
1) Is the fact he was a gentleman indicative of him liking me or not being interested
2) Is it likely he just asked for my number to be polite
3) Is the fact he said he was going to phone on his return good indication he is thinking of pursuing this or the polite brush off
4) If he was really interested would he not call/text from hols
any other comments?

1) He likes you but respects you and kept his word.
2) He asked for your number because he is interested.
3) It is a good indication that he intends getting in touch.
4) He might yet, but if he does not, it is because he is compartmenting his life, and is doing boyish activities.
He probably will phone when he has finished climbing/ mountaineering/ orienteering or whatever.

The fact that you chatted and held hands until 5 a.m. says alot! He obviously likes you,and wanted you to stay because he wasn't ready for your time together to end. He kept his promise and was a gentleman-to put it bluntly,you were NOT someone he considered just a shag. He's off on this holiday with his mates-this was planned before he met you-he'll probably be thinking of you,and may even text or call. I suggest you relax-when he gets back,contact him.

I think he was a gentleman because he liked you, maybe he won't ring or text you from his hols, as the call charges on a mobile are high from abroad, wait and see, if he gets back and calls you know the answer, if he doesn't call you lost nothing, and didn't wind up being just another notch on a post.

He was a gentleman because he didnt want to chase you away wants something real not just sex he made a connection to you that said dont mess this up he wants your number and wants to call you when he gets back from hangin with his boys see he doesnt want to call or text from vac. because he doesnt want to seem pushy or needed chill let him call you he will

Wow, i think he sounds like a nice genuine guy, especially if he didn't try anything on with you after a few drinks. Sounds like you've found someone good, even if he doesn't turn out as boyfriend material, he sounds like a good male friend to have! Lucky you - Good Luck!

It sounds like he is genuinely interested in you. Just wait for his txt/phone after he comes back from hols, if he phones/txt I'm sure he likes you. Good Luck.

Oh really, this is soooo touching...how cute and fluffy!!! But what do you want to KNOW??? Either you fancy him or you don't. Either he'll call you or he won't. As far as I can tell nothing of any interest has happened. My advice is: don't hold your breath....

nope, seems he likes you....some guys DO, dare i say it? (ssshhhh)have morals. why bother taking your number to be polite? maybe, if you'd been drinking he didnt want to take advantage? (That one's pretty rare but not unheard of...) or just didnt want to half start something before his hols? more positives than negatives....but only time will tell.......
