Now I don't feel like doing anything at all except sitting around drinking or sleeping. What's my deal?

It sounds like you have depression. Have you considered therapy, or asked your doctor if you should try an anti-depressant?

Well, not that age is really a factor, but seeing that your drinking, you're hopefully over 21. So here's the deal. The same thing happened to me about two weeks ago, it ended badly. You see, I just got in the game now, at the age of 15. I started taking on tasks. At first I could handle everything. (By the way, I had a lot going, I started working out, I started chorus, I jumped in a play and got some lines, I was in the nutcracker, and had a weekly ballroom dancing class. I worked out 4 times a week) Then it started to take its toll on me physicall. I started waking up later, but I don't think it was from working out, stay on track with it, but the other things take presidence over it. Then I crashed, and at the worst of possible times. I missed three play practices, and missed my chance to show myself at a highly acclaimed singing chorus for which I had worked to get to for two months. A lot of people were mad at me for it. The people got over it, but I was pained for not going. Anyway, that caused me to keep my head up. I crashed because I didn't see the light at the end of the tunnel. See, I keep this little thing in mind. The long term training has long term effects. Look at what you get from this stuff your doing. Look at all your learning, sure the people in the class know it like you do....and that is just a handful.....Also, very few people are bilingual..... Working out is one of the greatest things you can do for yourself. It increases your self esteem, and helps your body.....Remember the light at the end of the tunnel. That tunnel surely isn't as long as you think it is if you enjoy yourself instead of crashing. Don't make the same mistake I did.....Trust me it is hard to fix.

Has anything happened recently for you to lose your motivation? It sounds like you're depressed or stressed about something in your life. You know your situation better than I. Maybe you're just in a temporary slump that will pass. Occasionally, that happens to all of us. Sometimes we over-extend ourselves, and get burned out. Try to get back into your activities gradually, and maybe cut down on some of them. Just concentrate on the things that you really enjoy, and drop the others. Get plenty of rest at night if you've been keeping late hours. But if the inertia continues, you may need some help in the form of counseling or medication or both. Good luck!

You have at least some of the symptoms of depression. I suggest going to see your doctor to discuss this with him/her. One factor that may be causing some if this (if you live in the northern hemisphere), is that the days very short in winter, and some people respond to this negatively. If you can, get full-spectrum bulps for your light fixtures; also be sure to get outdoors into natural light as much as possible.

Maybe you're subconciously feeling overworked. Take things one day at a time.

You're in a funk, you'll get out of it eventually. If you don't then don't worry, you'll find something better to do with your time...or not.
