In God’s presence, on a predestined day, all people, all living beings, the world, the sun, the moon, the stars, in brief, all the material world will disappear. In the Qur'an, this day is called the “Day of Resurrection”. This is “...the Day mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds” The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 83, Verse 6. On that day, a person will be too occupied to worry about others. He will even abandon his own mother, father, spouse and children.

The intensity and inconceivable terror of the Day of Resurrection will make everyone concern himself over his own affairs. God describes the Day of Resurrection as follows:
What will convey to you what the Day of Judgement is? Again! What will convey to you what the Day of Judgement is? It is the Day when a soul will have no power to help any other soul in any way. The command that Day will be God’s alone. The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 82, Verses 17-19

When the Deafening Blast comes, that Day a man will flee from his brother and his mother and his father, and his wife and his children: on that Day every man among them will have concerns enough of his own. The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 80, Verses 33-37

And thus the most precious social bonds in this life will come to a bitter end. The terror of that day will render all close relations and kinship meaningless. The only precious thing remaining will be faith:
Then when the Trumpet is blown, that Day there will be no family ties between them; they will not be able to question one another. Those whose scales are heavy are the successful ones. Those whose scales are light are the losers of their souls, remaining in Hell timelessly, for ever. The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 23, Verses 101-103

Bonds and family ties break down in such a way that people would give their so-called beloved sons, spouses, brothers and even all their relatives in ransom for their own salvation:
No good friend will ask about his friend, even though they can see each other. An evil-doer will wish he could ransom himself from the punishment of that Day, by means of his sons, or his wife or his brother or his family who sheltered him or everyone else on earth, if only that meant that he could save himself. But no! It is a Raging Blaze. The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 70, Verses 10-15

This “offer” is actually an indication of the pitiless and ungrateful nature of disbelievers which surface when their benefits are in question. This offer also warns of the vanity of this life. Often a person chases after trivial goals; for an admirable job, a beautiful house, or a woman, and for money he will work for a lifetime. However, as the Qur'an informs us, in his desperate efforts to be saved, a person will be willing to pay, not just a single woman, but all the women in the world or all possible possessions in ransom for his own personal salvation. However, these are all futile efforts. God is essentially the owner of all the possessions in the world. Salvation, on the other hand, remained behind, in the worldly life. It is too late now and, as promised, hellfire has already started burning.

There will be 2 groups of people - one group will be cast into everlasting death - the other group will spend eternity in heaven.

On Revelation:

The Book of Revelation

The only book of New Testament prophecy is Revelation, sometimes called the Apocalypse from its Greek name. It was written by John, the apostle, at the close of his life while he was a prisoner on the Isle of Patmos off the coast of Asia Minor. Probably the last Biblical writing, it was addressed to seven congregations of the Lord's church in Asia Minor. Of these, the book highly commends two, severely criticizes two, and both commends and criticizes the remaining three.

Revelation is an account of a vision seen by John on "the Lord's day". The Lord's day was doubtless the first day of the week (Sunday) since Christ arose from the grave on this day. Probably no book has been the subject of more speculation. Many teachers have dogmatically tried to give a meaning to every figure and symbol with numerous conflicting ideas the result.

A few words of caution are in order. First, Revelation is a record of "things which must shortly come to pass." (Rev. 1:1) Its fulfillment then, must be found in what has transpired since John penned the words rather than in what occurred before. Next, it is highly symbolic. Most Biblical writing is quite literally, but prophecy is not. Thus, when we read of seven golden candlesticks John explains that they represent the seven churches to which the book is addressed. It is not within the scope of this lesson to explain the various symbols and visions, but the student is warned against accepting unquestioningly the many theories which have been propounded. One ought to be especially wary of the teacher who claims to have the answers to all the difficult passages or the man who spends most of his time preaching about what is going to happen, Sensational teaching of this kind attracts crowds, but only confuses the hearers.

Chapters 20-22 present a vivid description of both heaven and hell which will be studied in the last lesson in this course. With the words, "The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen." the Bible comes to an end. But although completed 1850 years ago, the influence of the book of books will continue unabated until Christ returns.

i believe that the notion of a "judgment day" is a form of a control mechanism being used by religious leaders to control their flock...

all of the different religious leaders out there advertise that in order to be saved and be ready for this judgment day you should follow what they are preaching thus gaining more followers and income...

i believe that the real judgment day happens when you die.. but it doesn't happen only once, because we go thru the process of reincarnation... by the way, we go thru the process of reincarnation in order to be cleansed.. so we are being judged everytime that we die during different lifetimes...

the reason that we are being judged is whether we can finally comeback and become one again with "God" or whatever you wish to call it... but it is not as simple as following a certain religion.. we are here right now because we have to learn something that we haven't learned from our previous lifetime... the problem is we don't know what that is...

There will be a lot of little lights shooting out of the graves ping, ping, ping and rapturing up into heaven and then the Apocalypse. All the bad people with the dreaded 666 the mark of the beast across the forehead will be cast into hell for ever and ever. Hows that? Merry Christmas XX Betty.

According to the Vedic literature. It is in 427,000 years from now. People will be only two or three feet tall and look like horrible goblin like daemons. They will be daemons and they will eat their young and each other. The earth will be dark and covered in blood. If one is intelligent they will have already have surrendered to God before that point. We get unlimited trys though it is said in 10,000 years all the scriptures will be misconstrued and their will be little chance of getting out until the end. One has to understand Karma and Reincarnation to get the full picture.

For the unbeliever:

Rev 20:11 And I saw a Great White Throne, and the One sitting on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled; and a place was not found for them.
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, the small and the great, standing before God. And books were opened. And another Book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged out of the things written in the books, according to their works.
Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead in it. And death and hell gave up the dead in them. And they were each judged according to their works.
Rev 20:14 And death and hell were thrown into the Lake of Fire. This is the second death.
Rev 20:15 And if anyone was not found having been written in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the Lake of Fire.

White throne judgement is going to be very scary to those who have rejected the free gift of Salvation ,every deed and thought will be brought up and the word of God actually says that some will actually still spit on God at that time and think they are the boss of him ,

Matthew 24:5-8 gives us some important clues so we can discern the approach of the end times, “For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.” An increase in false messiahs, an increase in warfare, and increases in famines, plagues, and natural disasters – these items are “signs” of the end times. Even in this passage, though, we are given a warning. We are not to be deceived (Matthew 24:4), because these events are only the beginning of birth pains (Matthew 24:8), the end is still to come (Matthew 24:6).

Many interpreters point to every earthquake, every political upheaval, and every attack on Israel as a sure sign that the end times are rapidly approaching. While these events are signs that the end times are approaching, they are not necessarily indicators that the end times have arrived. The Apostle Paul warned that the last days would bring a marked increase in false teaching. “In the latter times, some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils” (1 Timothy 4:1). The last days are described as “perilous times” because of the increasingly evil character of man and people who actively “resist the truth” (2 Timothy 3:1-9; see also 2 Thessalonians 2:3).

Other possible signs would include a rebuilding of a Jewish temple in Jerusalem, increased hostility towards Israel, and advances toward a one-world government. The most prominent sign of the end times, however, is the nation of Israel. In 1948, Israel was recognized as a sovereign state for the first time since 70 A.D. God promised Abraham that his posterity would have Canaan as “an everlasting possession” (Genesis 17:8), and Ezekiel prophesied a physical and spiritual resuscitation of Israel (Ezekiel 37). Having Israel as a nation in its own land is important in light of end-time prophecy, because of Israel’s prominence in eschatology (Daniel 10:14; 11:41; Revelation 11:8).

With these signs in mind, we can be wise and discerning in regards to the expectation of the end times. We should not, however, interpret any of these singular events as a clear indication of the soon arrival of the end times. God has given us enough information that we can be prepared, but not enough information that we can become arrogant.

Everyone rides a bus to the afterlife where a welcoming party would be held for everyone. All the people who have been having problems in their life on earth (and maybe other planets as well? ^_^) will get the help they need in the afterlife. I know it's very silly, but it's one of my ideas... ^_^
