Years ago i got a model airplane of a plane that was supposed to replace the SR-71 blackbird. it had sleeker looking engines and wings (well flatter wings).
I ask this because i think i might have seen one fly over my town but then again i saw a pictures on the internet of a plane that was never went into full production (jet air plane or something)..

Is there such a plane? i dont know many specs on it.. it looks like a SR71 for the most part but part of the wing curves in a 90 degree angle just above the engines. the engines also are not the nassel type ones but B2 type box engines under the wings.

I've heard about these being produced, but I'm not sure if they've gone into use. It sounds like a fairly high security-type project though, so for all we know they've been operating in classified situations for several years.

The correct official designation is RS, not SR. So it should start with a R (Reconnaissance) and not with a S (Strike).

The RS-71 become the SR-71 because someone made a mistake announcing its designation during a public event.

As for the UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) you saw.

What you described look more like the XB-70 Valkyrie. Its wing can fold up and down during flight. Its engines are under it and in the middle, they are contained in boxes.

Though I don't know on how a swan can be mistaken for a black bird, unless they painted it black.

The U.S. military has moved on to drones that can basically "hover" over an area for hours or fly long distances without the need of a pilot. There is no need for the SR-76, because the idea of keeping the guy safe using speed is no longer needed for spy aircraft. Even if they did make it, there are probably already surface to air missles that can fly faster than it.
