I've noticed that myself and most that I've read are full of hate. If being an atheist makes you so upset and hateful maybe it's time you gave Jesus a chance. On the other hand we have alot of so-called Christians not living up to the words they preach. You know what they say, a few bad apples ruins the entire batch. We all need prayer.

I like to read the arguments between christians when interpreting the bible

it seems they can't decide on what's a metaphor and what's to be taken literally

they can't even decide on whether we evolved or not and what age the earth is

I mean, it's no wonder why so many become atheists

maybe by coming to this section of answers you're inadvertantly recruiting more?

just a thought

Why do so many people ask this question?

It's not hard to understand that people could have an interest in the study of religion and not be religious isn't it? I mean, it does kind of effect history, politics, life itself. I'm sorry for those who don't take the time for at least a little critical consideration of world religions... especially the ones they themselves hold dear.

i keep asking myself the same question Bob. All they want to do is spread hate and confusion instead of embracing all religions. they hang out in this thread debunking everything with God. i dont know what's missing from their lives but they just seem to be doubting unhappy people. i mean, if someone worships a cow, let them. why do atheists have to discredit everything dealing with God just because they feel he doesnt exist? They have their own beliefs and so do everyone else. What makes them superior? if they dont believe in God, why are they in Religion and Spirituality? they secretly want to have a personal relationship with God. all we can do is pray for them and their souls

Because slowly but surely as each year goes by, more and more people are realising that religion is a load of bollox, and as the population increases and less children have god shoved down their necks by there parents and schools, eventually as you are seeing now Atheism is on the increase. give it time and all religions will be defunct, it might take a long long time, but eventually hopefully it will get there.

No atheists do not believe in a God. Christians do.

There is no scientific support for God.

Ergo Christians are beleivers and propounders of myths!!!

Atheists are happy with their lives. they have nothing to prove. It really annoys Christians who keep trying to thrust their myths into others lives.

Are you exchanging something for the thread? It's kind of hard to take hold of nothing.

Religion is dangerous, and affects our lives every day.

There are American soldiers dying in Iraq due to religious differences.

There's nothing missing in my life. I simply care about my fellow man, and I want to do my part to end this religious madness before it leads us to World War III.

Hope you can understand that.

What's missing from your happy little god-sanctioned life that you're here? Where does it say 'believers only'?

And the mythology comment, I won't even touch. It's too perfectly ironic.
