Hey everyone, Im writing a research paper about teachers touching children (pre-preschool through elementary age).....these days, all touch in educational and childcare settings is thought of as risky, as there is a moral panic about child sexual abuse and professionals in the teaching and childcare fields are being targeted as a good way to manage this risk. anyways, for the intro of my paper, i want to provide the readers with quotes or song lyrics that emphasize the power/importance of touch...maybe in a brilliant love song, or just a random quote, etc. please provide the author of the quote/ song artist. for example, i keep thinking of this hip hop/techno song thats played a lot, it may be by cascada....it goes, "everytime we touch, i get this feeling...everytime we kiss....i dunno the rest," but this is a good example....any others??? please help me with my paper!! thanks so much ahead of time. :)

I suggest that you instead try to find a scientific research (possibly psychology) article on the importance of human touch (try google scholar for the search.) I feel like it would be more convincing and more scholarly to quote from a researcher rather than a singer.

I found one study you may mention, but you will find more if you look into google scholar. (scholar.google.com )

article entitled: "The Influence of Touch on Child Development: Implications for Intervention"
author: Blackwell, Patricia L
abstract(summary): This article outlines historical, socio-cultural, and research information that attests to the fundamental relationship between touch and child development. It describes applications including touch therapies with very low-birthweight infants, with fragile premature infants, and with infants of depressed mothers.
( I got the above information from ERIC database)

Here is another quote...The quote I am pasting next says there are lots of scientific evidence that show the importance of physical contact for peoples' health.

"What scientists do know that you may not, is that human touch can actually improve your mental and physical health, lengthen your life, and even boost your career performance.
At the Touch Research Institute at the University of Miami - and in labs and real-life experiments around the world - mounting evidence shows that all of us can benefit from increasing the amount of physical contact we have with friends, lovers, and family - and with professional massage therapists.
