Pretzels are good snacks because they are either low fat or fat free and low cal. To lose weight, you should start drinking lots of water, around 2 litres per day. Measure it out in the morning and keep it in your school bag. It'll burn more calories to carry the weight around and you'll know exactly how much you need to drink. Before you eat every time, drink and entire glass of water. You'll get full faster and eat less.

Healthy snacks that are tasty are not hard. Almonds fill you up quickly and are high in protein. Instead of buying potato chips, switch to soy crisps or cakes. I like the cinamon flavor, but there are a lot to choose from. Incorporate more fruits into your diet. I love gala apples and bananas. If you dont like plain fruits, try eating it with some low fat peanut butter (high in protein). Start reading the nutrition info on the food you eat and try to keep your snacks under 150 cal. The more protein and less carbs in your snacks, the better (but I'm not saying to cut out carbs altogether). And make sure you snack in between each meal (only one snack!). It keeps your metabolism higher.

Check out www.hungrygirl.com and search for snacks. It's not just for girls! The object of the website is heathy, tasty food.

You also need to start exercising. Even if it's just a 20 min walk in your neighborhood after dinner every night, it will do so much for your heart. If youre overweight at 11, it's likely you'll be overweight as an adult. Get the weight off now and it'll be easier when you're older to keep it off.

Eat a balanced, healthy diet (lots of fruit and vegetables) and get plenty of exercise and sleep. Stay away from prepackaged foods when possible. If you are not very physically active, you should find a sport or other activity that will get you to be active.

Snack suggestions: pretty much any fruit, carrot and/or celery sticks with dip (seriously, it's tough to eat these plain but if you can manage it, more power to you), yogurt, nuts.

Good news is you are only 11. Try eating fruits and granola bars as snack, as well as eating healthy meals. Talk to your parents and ask them to buy healthy snacks. Get plenty of exercise, drink plenty of water and if this does not help talk to your doctor and he can help you with calorie management
