Many cats that are typically indoor cats get disoriented when outside. Leave a little bit of food near the door and perhaps even a covered litterbox that your cat used to use outside. The familiar scents may help to bring them home, even a favorite blanket will do. Early morning and at dusk, wander the area near your home, specially wooden areas, calling to your pet as you normally would. If you can, set up a time lapse camera or something near the house to see if the cat wanders by.
Post lots of flyers in and around your neighborhood. Indoor cats typically won't wander far and will stay within a mile or so of your house. Outdoor cats can and will roam up to 5 miles from home. Check with your local animal control every few days. Most stray cats that are found have a 72 hour rotation. They are caught, pictures ar eput up on websites, they have 72 hours before they are vetted and to determine if they are adoptable material.
Many indoor cats go into a survival mode, afraid of everything that moves near them. many of them take up residence underneath sheds, in trees, underbrush, etc etc in the yards near your home. Homes with other cats/dogs are typically shunned. If you live near a wooded area, try seeing if anyone near you has humane traps. Set them up with kitty's favorite food and visit it multiple times a day to free whatever gets caught.
Good luck and I hope your kitty comes home soon!

If you are really convinced that she is lost, I recomment making and putting up "Lost Pet" signs. If you have a picture of her, put it on the sign and include a phone number to call. Also, check your local animal shelter. You should make sure that she did not end up there, and you can give them her description in case she is found and brought there as a stray. You can also put some cat food outside at your house in case she is nearby and will come back. I know that I would be very upset if my cat was missing, so I hope that this helps. Good luck!

My cat went missing for 3 days. We finally found him about 40 feet up in a tree in the middle of a dog pen. He had wandered into a shed and through a hole in the wall that led into the dog pen. Check the trees around your house. You can't hear them cry from that high up. If the lady who owned the dogs hadn't noticed they kept looking up in the tree, we may have never found him. Also, check other places that look like a cat might be interested to go. Good luck!

Post flyers around the neighborhood with the cat's picture if you can. Most of the time when something like this happens is some retard (at least they are a kind hearted retard) sees your cat and assumes it is feral. They feed the cat and start getting friendly with him. Then they take him in as their pet not realizing that he is just out and about. If they see your flyer, they will know the truth and return him.

Cats, once they get the feeling of freedom they are never the same. I had a house cat that got out and returned 6 months later, the bad habits she picked up never went away. Not to be cruel but get another cat and never I say never let her out again.

We just found a kitty, today. It's a female, could you discribe the coloring please?
Also, put out fliers, and ads in papers. I know what it's like to lose a pet.
Good Luck!
