I am in the process of getting venners on my top teeth. The dentist said he would have to take a THIN layer off of my real teeth to put the venners on. In the middle of the grinding, I went to the restroom and looked in the mirror and my real teeth looked like the guy from the Goonies. They came to a point and there were large gaps between them. My teeth were pretty regular before. Is this normal?

Also, my temporary "wax ups" feel like they are going to fall out every time I eat something and I have been taking it easy by eating soups and soft foods, no hard foods. Will they fall out?

THE DENTIST WAS NOT FINISHED DOING THE PREPARATIONS BEFORE YOU LEFT THE OFFICE. REST ASSURED THE FINAL RESULT WILL BE VERY NICE.MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A NIGHT GUARD MADE TO PROTECT THE VENEERS WHILE YOU SLEEP. OBTAIN INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO BEST CARE FOR THEM.

Well... it depends on the reason why your dentist recommended veneers.. To have a better smile? to close up some spaces so you wouldn't have to have orthodontics? I'm not sure. But to take anyway healthy tooth structure for no reason - I do not agree. They have this new process out called Lumineers - Where they take little or NO tooth structure away and the Veneer is as thin as a Contact Lense..Its costly - but your actual tooth is never touched. Good Luck!!

Even a thin amount can look or feel huge to your tongue.
It's completely normal.
I hope they look as great as you wanted them to!
