Can anyone seriously help me? It's with me through school and work, day and night, morning to morning, pain scale 8 on a good day, crying myself to sleep on others. I seriously could use any good advise. And please don't just tell me to see another doctor or something, I've been through 6, with no luck. Neurologists, Osteopaths, Pediatricians when I was young, nothing.

Well, first off -- what alot of people don't know is that migraines can be caused by a lack of magnesium or a calcium allergy. So you might seek the help of a nutritionist.

If you've been there done that. Seek a clinic that offers Botox, yes the wrinkle miracle, as a treatment for migraines. I work for a neurologist who administers these shots for migraine patients and it really does help alot of people. It stops the muscles from contracting by freezing them in place. (It's only an added bonus that you get help with wrinkles as well. :-) )

The effects usually last three months or so, however, it some patients it has no effect and in others it as extreme -- only requiring re-injection ever 9 months. It can, too, be very expensive as it is not yet FDA approved. But alot of insurances, if your doctor can prove medical necessity, will approve it.

Good luck!

Basic solution lies in stress control and personal management. Not as difficult as it sounds. If the medication has not helped so far, it probably won't help anyway. Stop the medication unless you have been advised by specialist doctors for some physical ailment causing the migraines.

Try yoga immediately, if there is a yoga center nearby you - or get a book or video - it has been known to cure many ailments.

Take lots of water everyday. Sip the water - with every sip, tell yourself, that "My migraine is slowly going away.. with each sip of this water, I am slowly being cured.."

Assuredly this will will work within 30 days! Try it and let me know!!

My mum suffers terribly with cluster migraines so you've got my sympathy because they're not pretty and she's tried every medicine and therapy going. It's been discovered that the migraines can be caused by slight defects in the heart (not life threatening). My Grandma also suffered from cluster migraines for years and years. She had to have a valve replaced in her heart about 10 years ago and has not had a migraine since her op.

Check out the connection on the internet. Sorry I can't be more help.

Such a story is always very distressing to me but it is not uncommon for someone to see multiple physicians without getting any better. The United States ranked #1 in the world in medical matters in 1985 but ranked a dismal 30th in 2005. Earlier this year the New England Journal of Medicine published an article (which I never expected to see) stating what I did in 1980 which is that your odds of getting proper medical care in the US is 50 50 (and when I said this in 1980 we were #1). Ironically the more frequent and severe the headaches the better they respond to treatment. Call your County Medical Society for a referral to someone who knows what they are doing and if you are desperate (likely you are) call the Diamond Headache Clinic in Chicago. Good luck.

i know this sounds crazy, but are you on birth control? that causes allergic reactions in some people and it gives KILLER headaches. also, try cutting out all dairy products for a couple weeks and see what happens, if you're headaches are really that bad, it won't be such a sacrifice. when i was young i had migraines every day and no one could figure out why either. when i stopped drinking milk they were gone within a week and a half... all the other medicine doesn't work because you're poisoning ( if you turn out to be allergic ) you're self. try it and see. otherwise i would, just for good measure, go to an allergist to see. good luck!

First of all u have my sympathy. I once suffered from the agonizing pain of migraines myself. Well u said uve employed many possibilities.I think that pain your experiencing(not to be coy or glib) is life. Stop trying to medicate. Try improving your diet, take vitamins that increase blood flow or maybe even try yoga and/or other meditative techniques.

As westerners we tend to take the most systematic approach to all areas of our life. Understand that the health care industry is profit motivated and many who are in these positions are either directly or inderectly associated with pharmeucitical companies.

Try, as hard it may sound, to deal with the pain by diverting your focus on improving your quality of life. Youve spent so much time trying to fix the problem that uve inadvertantly centered your life around it. It is a proven fact that many "illnesses" are psychomatic. Get out and live. Create and execute new goals. We all have things that cripple us to some extent or another. It is by falling victim to them that we abandon our championship.

I know it may sound harsh but the best advice i think i can give u is to not try to fix it(ur migraines) one bit but LIVE through it.
