Ok, theres this guy I've known and liked for a while. I met him where I worked, he got my number from a friend (I can only guess that meant he was interested in me too), and since then we've played voicemail and email tag but never gotten together. We seem to work a lot of opposite schedules. I haven't seen him in a while so I figured I had nothing to lose. I called him today and left a message. I just wanted him to call me but it slipped out that I wanted to go out with him, so I asked him to call me back whatever his answer is. Was this a mistake? And if he doesn't want to see me, will he call and tell me that or just not call?

Hey Steve, if you don't want to answer then don't waste our time. Get a life. Or do you enjoy being one of those inter-net a s s e s.
Now, back to the question. I really applaud you for taking the chance and doing what you did. I don't think you messed up. If he's interested he'll definitely call you back. If he's not, I'd say there is a 75% chance he will not call you back. Some/most guys would just consider it rude to call back to say "I'm not really interested". Make since? But regardless, if he isn't interested, it will not be because you called him. Good luck

no its not a mistake at all..you stuck your neck out there and alot of pepople wont do that. so i envy you. it definatly was not a mistake. and from i can imagine hes intersted too. Just give it time. He'll call back. If the answers yes then you should go out. And if he says no feel proud that you were able to ask him. Rejection is not easy but its what we learn from..I think he will call.

I don't think that it was a dumb idea for you to call him and just get to the point of your phone call. Hopefully he will find sometime to call you back and give a an answer no matter what.

i would ask, get rejected and move on
i wouldn't want to think WHAT IF?
from what you've told us, i believe he will say yes.
