I'm doing a partial fast. It consists of a light breakfast and nothing eaten the rest of the day, only juices and water. I usually do weightlifting. Should I lay off until the fast is over?

I'm doing this for spiritual reasons. To combine with prayer for results.

Yes. During fasting, it's important to save as much energy as you can. Don't worry about working out or anything that causes exertion. Your body is, essentially, going into starvation mode and will want to hold on to all the nutrients it can. Although this doesn't sound like your case, I never recommend fasting to my clients as a means to lose weight. But I understand the spiritual/religious purposes of it.

it really depends on you, how old you are, if you are fit or not, and how your body will react to the fast.... if you want to continue working out I would advise that you drink a lot of juices during the day as they are full of sugar and should give you enough energy. I would also limit the work out to keeping your body in shape rather than improving it. Also if at any time you feel faint, dizzy or start seing stars, stop what you are doing immediately and lay down..... and if you are going to work out I would keep some pieces of sugar on you just in case you feel like you are going to faint....

Why are you fasting? Everyone knows fasting isn't healthy. You need to fuel your body otherwise it will shut down. Eat in moderation and exercise.
