I have a small Shorkie too! But since he's a lot smaller and eats a lot less than my big dog, I feel that he should get the best nutrition possible. I feed him Ziwipeak which is ridiculously expensive (20 bucks for 5lbs), but it takes him a month to get through it. I think of him as a family member and if I spend $20 on lunch sometimes, he deserves it. But I know what it's like to be on a budget and with my bigger dog, there's no way in hell I'd spend that much on him. Plus big dogs metabolize and digest food better than little ones. So when I went to go look for a good quality and cheaper dog food I found Wellness. You can get it at Petco and they have a frequent buyer program that helps out and stuff goes on sale which is good. I feed my big dog (pit lab) Wellness as it is a high quality dog food with a lower price than say Innova or "boutique foods" because let's face it he eats 2-3 cups a day and would eat through my wallet before anything. I don't feed it to my Shorkie ONLY because he really enjoys his other food, I would feed it to him in retrospect, but he's spoiled. A good rule of thumb when looking for a good dog food is to make sure that the first three ingredients aren't fillers. Try to make sure that they're meats and not a grain or a by-product. Wellness is one of those products, my big boy loves the taste and sometimes Trooper the Yorkie will have a nibble as a snack, but as I said... he's spoiled. On an end note, if you spoil your dog now... it will be spoiled forever. <3

Korean do eat dog as well as horse. My husband saw signs advertising it in Korean food places when he served there. In fact, he has a picture of the sign. In the Asian culture they eat horse because horses are strong. They tend to eat this when they feel weak.
