Hi AJ...cats shouldn't drink milk because they do not have the proper enzymes to properly break down the sugar in milk which is called 'lactose.' You may have heard of people who are lactose-intolerant. They are also missing these digestive enzymes. If the proper enzymes are not present, the lactose remains undigested and tends to ferment in the intestine and cause diarrhea. Some pets can tolerate a little milk, others, none at all. If your pet enjoys and appears to tolerate milk, you can give your pet small amounts. Better yet, give your pet one of the special cat or dog milks on the market that have had the lactose removed.

Don't give a cat the normal store-bought stuff that we humans drink. This is bad for them because its been pasturized and has additives, etc. You can find however at pet stores a milk made especially for cats. If you really want to give your cat milk give it that instead.

CAN you give milk to cats? Yes, certainly. SHOULD you? No.
Normal milk contains lactose, which cats are intolerant to. This causes them various stomach problems, such as for example constipation or diarrhoea.
There are special types of milk you can buy, that you can for example feed to kittens if their mum for some reason can't breastfeed them. But you shouldn't really feed any cat (especially not kittens) normal milk. Sure, it won't necessarily kill a cat, but it's certainly not good for them either.

Normal milk has lactose and cats by nature are lactose intolerant. They will get stomach problems if they drink milk. You should give them milk specially made for cats.

Yes. However, it will make some cats sick to their stomach. If that happens you will obviously want to stop giving it to your cat.
My cats are very interested in milk but will only drink a little (very little). They have been fine.

I dont give my cats milk very often, but it's never hurt them when I do. Just consider it a treat so they dont expect it all the time. If you notice they react badly to it, such as throwing up, maybe dont give it to your cat(s) again. Better safe than sorry, but it's not deadly.

not recommended in either dogs or cats. the content of milk usually causes diarrhoea due to a sensitive digestive system.
