My dog gets super excited whenever I come home, or when my parents do, or when anyone else does. When my friends have stayed over my house in the past my dog chose to sleep in their bed instead of mine. It seems like he really loves us but whenever anyone else comes over it seems like we are no longer special and that person is his new plaything. Shouldn't he treat the people he lives with different than strangers?

My daughter was the same way!!! Dogs have as many different personalities as people do, and it shows that your dog was raised in a happy and positive way. ..
When raising show dogs, that is exactly the personality we are hoping for! And we do our best to foster it with as much socialization as we can..
Don't dispair..your dog is just sociable, and on the right track..It certainly doesn't mean that he loves you any less..

My dog is the same way. She's with me all the time, I guess I'm just not as exciting as visitor's!

Visitor's are fun for awhile, but I know, when the "newness" of a guest wears off, she still feels most comfortable with me. If you take yourself out the equation, ie leaving him at a friends house, I'm sure she would he would choose to be with you, maybe even stress that you are not there.

Some dogs just love everyone they encounter. Dont take it personally. Just be grateful that you have a friendly dog that everyone can tolerate. Too bad people weren't more like that so this didn't seem foreign to us humans.

Sounds like they haven't been trained (just to state the obvious).

You should describe more of their behavior. Are they barking,.. jumping,.. licking,.. biteing,.. what?

Alot of times people won't admit to an owner if they are unhappy with something their dog is or has done to them. They expect you to know they are not happy when a dog scratches them up or bites them,.. or gets on their nerves. Or they don't want to deal with you whineing.

It's sounds very cute and sweet that he wants to have everyone accepted into HIS home/family/pack. A very accepting dog. He is trying to let everyone know they are accepted there,.. but he is the Pack Leader so they should spend time with him and get to know their leader and that they are below him.

Your treated equally because you are ALL below him and not equal to him.

Wow! you have a very special dog there....really!

Normally, dogs do not do that....Your dog is a lover, not a fighter...
Very special indeed.....your blessed.

Do not be upset, it means your dog just has enough love to go all the way round.....VERY RARE....believe me....
