I feel quite strongly about this subject. First of all, every single human being that lives in the United States comes from somewhere else except for the Indians. Therefore, we are all "immigrants" if you will. Secondly, the Latin community is not the only group of immigrants flocking to America at this time yet no one seems to recognize the other cultures (i.e. the Irish, Africans, Canadians, etc).
But to answer the questions presented, I don't think that illegal immigration is necessarily getting worse because of the greedy corporate executives. If anything the majority of "illegal" immigrants come to America to find a way to help their families rise up from oppression and extreme poverty. I just think that this whole topic is a way for our government to distract us citizens just a tad but longer from topics that we should be focusing on like the War on Iraq. Immigrants have been here since the beginning of time, so how come the past several years they are being targeted? Cheap labor is something that America as a whole loves to find. That's one of the reasons why a lot of companies are outsourcing and laying off Americans yet we don't blame them we blame those coming into this country to provide for their communities. Oops, sorry if I don't find anything wrong with that.

People asking a question like this one scare me! Corporate America ... you kiddin'? Illegal immigration is getting worse because of our politically correct society. Look at those idiots in California. Do you know that there is movement to let illegals get drivers licenses? ILLLEGALS!!! The illegals are used for dirt cheap labor, but the owners of businesses are the ones actually promoting the problem. They increase their profit margin, get cheap labor and go unpunished in any way. I'm not against immigration. It's the 'illegal immigration' that's the problem. Our government, the ACLU who defends the illegals, and other bleeding heart liberals will ruin this country. They should build that fence 100 feet high and electrify it. There should be a mine field in front of it and a mote filled with sharks and alligators on the other side. These illegals need to be rounded up and sent home ... period. Riverside, New Jersey and Hazelton, Pennsylvania have taken steps to curb the problem. Both towns have written and passed laws making it a legally punishable offense to knowingly rent housing or hire illegals. Both towns have also taken the additional step of completely eliminating bi-lingual township documents. They are now both "English Only" towns. More and more municipalities should follow the example of these two. I think you'd eventually see a steady stream of illegals heading back home! Want to stay, apply for citizenship!

I think illegal immigration is getting worse because some adults nowadays rather sit on their butts and draw what ever financial assistance they can from the government instead of working for cheap. Yeah companies can hire immigrants for cheap and they are more than willing to help out farmers for money. But all those on food stamps and welfare would go out and do those jobs for the amount of money that the immigrants are being payed. Some just think they deserve better than that low paying job. They are too good for a low paying job but not too good for food stamps and welfare? What kind of sense does that make?

Yes they are. Their practices have gone unchecked for decades. Any costs for immigration reform or fences what have you should be bourne by them. The government is to blame also because of the fact that they just turned a blind eye to it for years. But of course they will dig more into our pockets unless we as Americans stand up and demand that the costs be incurred by the corporations since they have made billions off of the backs of underpaid labor.

the conservative and right-wing extremist reaction to the illegal immigration problem is exactly what works for rich white americans. after all all the schools with poor performance rates and hospitals that are shutting down are in hispanic neighbourhoods. the hispanics support an open door policy and support policies which keep themselves poor so let them.as long as the white hospitals and schools keep functioning let the mexicans bury themselves in un-checked population growth and poverty.

That, plus the fact that Americans are spoiled rotten, and won't get out and work. I know of no 16 year old American kids that would go out and work half as hard as some of the immigrants who are here. Sad, but true.

What can you do?
Piss and moan, and bend over and take it up the tailpipe - as Jim Carrey would say.
When we try to do something we're being "racist" and "inhumane".
