You would have to put the metal detector on the hand luggage scanner and not walk through the people scanner. But if this is a hypothetical question your metal detector would probably sound first due to the fact that airport scanner is focused on what enters it's arch and the metal scanner is more omnidirectional if pointed towards the airport scanner and triggered and bla bla bla..... :)

thats a odd question, i think the metal detector would go off before you even made it to the airport scanner, thats if you could make it to the airport scanner with it

Well, if you have a metal detector and it's on, AND you have metal on you, then that will go off first.
