i understand the fat/ carb/ protein things... but why it vegetables!?

Fruits and veges contain other chemicals that are not vitamins or minerals but are very beneficial to human health. Many of these phytochemicals function as antioxidants that protect our cells. Plus we need sufficient fiber for good health.

Because some vitamin pills are soluble which means they only a little while and aren't stored up in your body for times when yo may need them more. And some of the health benefits from vegetables can't be put into a pill
