They should be at least 8 weeks old. at four weeks, they aren't even totally weaned yet. They are usually weaned from their mother's milk around six weeks and while some people will separate the mother and puppies then, the puppies need more from the mother than just milk. Being with the mother/siblings teaches a puppy very important lessons about being a dog and they should stay together at the least until 8 weeks but a little longer is better.

We never let our puppies go to their new homes untill they are 8 weeks old cause puppies need to stay with mom and litter mates to learn how to be a good dog and mom teaches them even after they are weened from her,,, So if you can wait till they are 8 weekds then that would be the best for you and for the puppy,,, good luck on your new puppy they are so cute at this age so enjoy it while it last at this age cause they grow so quickly as im sure you know this after having a child,,, if you wait till it is 8 weeks then you will have a much better dog,,, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Usually between 8 and 12 weeks. It can be taken a little sooner, but it might start having behavioral abnormalities. Not dangerous ones, which is why it is okay (though not recommended). A friend of the family took his pug away too early from his mother, and from then on he would need a blanket to suck on to sleep. And he would not sleep for anything unless he was sucking on the blanket, he would just spend all night making crying noises until his blanket was given back.

Weaning off the puppies by the mother, typically around 8 weeks. The puppies also should socialize(play, fight) with the siblings for
confidence and identity.

I bought my puppy from a professional breeder at 8 weeks. Anytime before 6 weeks is too young.

8 weeks is the minimum age, but they can learn a lot of things like good manners from mom even up until 12 weeks. If you have the option, I'd hold out to 10 or 12 weeks if you can.

I would wait a couple more weeks. The mother dog needs to wein the pups off for a couple weeks first. When my dog had pups I waited for at least 6-8 weeks
