This is serious. I want to know if the people who support abortions, would support retroactive abortions. Lets say for instance, your child is born with one eye, should the child be put down. Or if the child isn't as good looking as you'd like? I'm not asking this for a laugh, I'm just seeing where the line is. If we do late term abortions, should we be allowed to end the life of a child who is deformed, or just not wanted after seeing the child, kind of like buyers remorse? I personally find this repugnant, but again, I just want to see where we draw the line?

I knew this would get this type of reaction, thats why I posted it. To get people to think. I said above I do not endorse the idea of "retroactive abortion", which by the way is a term I came up with several years ago. The whole point to this is with late term abortions becoming more and more prevalent where do we draw the line. The question itself is absurd, but is though provoking. I believe abortions should ONLY be allowed in the case of the mothers life being endangered, or rape or incest. Thats it. I don't believe abortion should be used as a form of birth control.

A form of this already occurs in China. China has strict controls on how many children you can have, so female children are routinely aborted so the parents can have a male heir.

Personally I think this is a great question. It makes you think about your position on this subject.

The link below is one I found in regards to this very issue.

1) I am Pro-choice but for me personally abortion is not an option (and I say this because I have been there, done that and I hated myself for it). However I will never tell another woman what is right or wrong for her to do in regards aborting her child. You never know what another woman's situation is.

2) In regards to retroactive abortion. I would not support this. I think it is selfish and shallow to want to "put down" your child because they are less than perfect. If you are already shallow enough to want to "give your child back" based on their looks or other deformities or simply because you don't want kids you have no business being a parent in the first place.

There are many positive sides to abortions, rape, incest which resulted from rape, life threatening diseases that the child inherited, or heart and brain abnormalities that won't allow the child to live after birth. Deformities and looks are not life threatening!
I don't agree with late term abortions, the child should just be given up for adoption, but I do understand why abortions are needed. Especially early on.

I want you to realize that not only are late term abortions illegal in many states, but they are incredibly rare and are almost always done due to a SEVERE abnormality or threat to the mother's health.

I have never once heard of a woman just deciding at 6,7, or 8 months pregnant that she simply changed her mind about having a child and found a doctor to abort it instead of choosing adoption, and I have been volunteering at Planned Parenthood for the last 13 years.

I would absolutely not support anything that "puts down" a child becasue they are ugly or deformed. My opinion of abortion is totally different. I think there are several reasons for abortion to remain legal and that is b/c I support a woman's right to end a pregnancy that resulted from a rape or insest.

No. I'm pro-choice, but I don't support late-term abortions, and I most definitely don't support the idea of euthanasia for children.

I feel abortion is murder bottom line. Even if you your baby will be deformed or have an illness. Why kill the baby for something that is not its fault. God made everybody the way they are for a reason. And god doesn't make mistakes. Also everything happens for a reason.

No, when a child is born, it's a living, breathing human being. When it's not born, it's NOT a child.

What you are talking about is murder. Abortion is not murder.

Great question, I must admit. First off I'm 100% pro-life. And exactly--where IS the line drawn? For me, the line is drawn at conception. At conception, everything about that child is already decided. Hair color, eye color, and even sex. Just because something doesn't look human, doesn't mean it isn't.
