No. Resistance exercises that challenge muscles cause an increase in metabolism. With a low carb (not zero carb) diet, the body will use body fat for energy. Fat is where energy in excess of the glycogen capacity will end up for storage. You can't target spots on the body for fat reduction.

With increased regular exercise and a reasonably controlled diet the targeted muscles will tone and this can be mistaken for spot reduction. The overall long term program will result in fat loss from the abdomen, but it's the toning that you will notice first.

Working a certain body area does not burn fat particularly off the worked area (search spot reduction). The only way to lose weight off your stomach is to lose fat overall, your body will burn it from where it wants, the good news is if you have a large amount of stomach fat it's likely your body will go to that fat first for energy.

yeah they do and they also develop the ab muscles if you want to just burn the belly fat off then do a lot of repetitions if you want to show off ab muscles then do less repititions with resistance

ab exercises will give you muscle not burn the fat you have. you have to lose the extra fat by weight loss. read tips on weight loss and ab exercises to help you more on this site
