Mouth ulcers are caused by many disorders. These include canker sores, leukoplakia, gingivostomatitis, oral thrush, herpes simplex, and other disorders, may be side of certain medications.

The goal of treatment is relief of symptoms. The cause, if known, should be treated. Gentle, thorough oral hygiene may relieve some of the symptoms. Topical antihistamines, antacids, corticosteroids, or other soothing preparations may be recommended to apply to the mouth ulcer. Avoid hot or spicy foods, which often increase the pain of mouth ulcers.

Niacin pills, or now Niacinamide. It can cause an itchy flushing of the skin but not in everybody, so don't take more than recommended. If it does have this effect either discontinue use or take only half a pill. But I'm not a doctor so you can ask a pharmacist if it's right for you. It can clear up mouth ulcers in about one and a half days.
