Who has the strongest genes in a hybrid dog, the mother or the father?

That is not usually true though. Depending on the breeding of each individual, the genetics may be 60/40 or 70/30. A dog that is linebred will tend to be homozygous for certain traits and as such will pass them on. We all know of good dogs who will leave their stamp on the puppies, no matter who it is bred to. There are also dogs who are never able to reproduce their traits and they may be heterozygous for a specic trait.

Of course, most traits are polygenic and it is not nearly this straightforward.

Each parent contributes the exact same amount of genetic information. The father determines the gender of the offspring, but everything else is 50/50.

The influence is exactly the same from both parents, but that influence is random in nature.
A dog has 39 pairs of chromosomes, the puppy will get one chromosome from each pair from each parent, (simplified version)
