I have this thing-burning desire, if you will, to be connected with an american indian-I do have Cherokee blood lines on both parents sides-I live in SC but I don't know where to meet indians!

Get involved with local reservations. That would be the best way to go about it.

They are not American Indian! Not native Indians either. They have nothing to do with India!!! They originally came from parts of the Middle East. So that technically makes them American Middle Easterners.
Answer to your question though. Try a Reservation. Best of luck to you.

Go to http://www.cherokee.org/. Thats the official website of the Cherokee Nation. I know they are based out of Tahlequah, OK. Maybe they have a listing of local tribes people........I have Cherokee on my dad's side. Ive always had an interest to find out if I have living relatives...No such luck so far....But good luck with you......

Well, there are a bunch of reservations in New Mexico, and Arizona. Just take a vacation and visit one of them.
