What is the real cause that people feel boredom ? I am 21. I feel boredom all day long. I try to avoid it. I try to be creative but something holds me back. I feel lazy all day long but i don't want to. If i try to do any kind of job when i start in the first 1 minute i will be so bored i am unable to continue. I feel like i am losing all the power i have when i try to do something. I am so bored of my life that i stay whole weeks inside my home. Only surfing the net. I don't know why this is happening to me for the last 2 years my life. My mother does everything for me, i am even bored to make food to eat. I think i have some psychological problem. Should i go to a doctor ?

It does sound like depression is setting in, when I was younger I spent one whole summer sitting in doors and surfing the net, looking back I saw how unproductive that was and how un-fun it was too!

Your brain needs to experience other activities then what you are doing or it will get used to feeling nothing, and that in turn will make you feel like crap. Treat yourself good and your brain in turn will make you feel better mentally.

Outdoor activities to entertain you and friends to do them with could help or try to join a club and if you don't have any friends then maybe you can make friends through that club.

Sitting around and doing nothing will result in just that; absolutely nothing!

Also, try to do some research on what you want to be when you go out into the working world; check out this website it helped me a lot (it is an official government website) to figure out what I want to do with my life

http://www.bls.gov/oco/home.htm

it lists career paths and tells you tons of info about each particular path such as:

# the training and education needed
# earnings
# expected job prospects
# what workers do on the job
# working conditions

Don't procrastinate get out and do something with your life!

Sounds like something more than boredom to me, almost like depression. I would definitely go see a doctor, especially if it has been happening for the past two years. You should have gone to see a doctor about it a long time ago.

You aren't bored, you are depressed. Get some psychiatric help. You definitely have a problem and your mother is just making it worse. Get off your butt and make an appointment. You're 21---grow up.
