My uncle and aunt moved to hawaii. They took their pets with them, but the pets had to be quarantined for 3 months. Since it is an island, it has a very specific ecosystem, and it just takes one little disease or animal thats not native to that habitat to throw off the whole balance and cause disaster. Did you know there are no snakes in hawaii? So, if your moving, by all means, just have her/him quarantined and then shell be back with you. after all, pets are family. If its just a visit, Id leave her with a friend or family member or have her boarded.

Yes, but the cat must spend time in quarantine which you must pay for. The rules are quite specific. Contact HI to get the list of rules. Your cat will need specific tests and vaccines several months before you go, so don't try to wait until the last minute.

yes you can. you have to get a rabies titer run from kansas state 6 months before you leave, and get an international health certificate within the month of travel. you need to first go to the vet for this, then take the form to the USDA to get it signed (you need an appt so don't wait until the last minute). you may also need to have your vet apply frontlinne the day before travel. all the info you need is on the hawaii state website. good luck.

Yes, you can. No, there are no laws preventing cats in Hawai'i. We took our two when my wife was assigned there. Below is a link to the state site that details the vaccination and quarantine requirements.

You mean you are moving there? They might have a quarantine law, you should check it out . Even with shots and papers it might need to be quarantined before they let you take it home.

Yes, but I really don't recommend it. You would have to put the cat in quarantine for at least a couple of months.

I can't see why not but you should talk to your vet and get all the shots updated that you need for the cat
