Capitalism is just about the most anti-Christian system ever invented. Have you ever read the book of Amos? The Letter of James? Jesus' quote of Isaiah in Luke 4 that commenced his ministry? Christianity is about bringing relief to the poor and dispossessed while accusing the rich and powerful. Nowhere in scripture is the phrase, "...for a fee," included.
Capitalism is a caste system based on money. It is no different from feudalism in that it believes there are some people who are of better quality than others by virtue of their inherited influence. Atheists do not approve of India's caste system. They may tolerate it but only because they respect the right to self-determination and they know that a forceful dismantling from the outside would not solve the problem. Their goal is a world in which every person is recognized as equal, and treated with equal respect and care. Undistorted socialism does this. Capitalism does not.

I can't imagine why you think that way when concern for the poor and homeless and helpless has been decimated by the God fearing Christians who have run the Congress for 12 years. And they better be afraid because I never heard of Jesus saying "Get your first and screw the rest of them"
Does that make Jesus a socialist?
India seems to be doing a great job with promoting capitalism the caste system be darned.

I dont think all atheists are against capitalism. Thats a stereotype used during the cold war days where capitalists called atheists communist. Its probably because capitalism was born out of imperialism and it had many evil things commited. Its also because the system runs on greed. Slavery and many other horrible things were born from capitalism. I dont personally hate capitalism because its the most successful economic system. I just dont like the negative aspects of it.

What are you crazy?
I'm an atheist and a socialist.
I do not like India's caste system.
I know a lot of atheists who are very pro-capitalists. Many are Libertarians.
Grow up.

I'm sure you're joking. Either that or you're trying to set up poor Christians for insults. Of course it could be you haven't a clue what you're talking about.
BTW, as I recall, there was this Jesus guy who said rich people were more or less toast with God. And it wasn't a good idea to get him started on the money-lenders either- he could throw a holy fit! .- Sounds like a commie pinko to me. (Boy, I hope you don't work in a bank.)

..............
What?!?!
Where in hell did you get that?
Not to mention, you don't seem to understand the difference between a political ideal and an economical one.
Capitalism has to do with money. Socialism does not.
Now... again, what in hell are you talking about?
Atheists are all over the scale, just like the religious are.
As for myself, I believe in Democratic Socialism, which is currently what Canada is. And I'm not atheist (though I tend to argue on their side since Wicca doesn't deny anything they say and what they say makes alot of sense), I'm Wiccan.
Honestly........... I'm just totally......... floored......... that you even thought of something like that.
In this case, I can't even accuse it on lack of education. It's....... something...... but it isn't lack of education. You should have honestly known better.

Really, thanks for letting me know. All this time I thought that I was an atheists who supported a market economy. Next thing you know I'll find out that atheists do not like coffee and I'll have to stop drinking my morning cup of Joe.
By the way Jesus was a socialist liberal.

Who says that? I prefer socialistic-capitalism like we have in Canada.
We have capitalism but still provide a socialist health care system, welfare, and homeless shelters.

What are you talking about? Some of our founding fathers were atheist. Why would they create a system of government that they didn't approve of?
