I want to help African people with charity but I don't know how. I want to be able to help without paying $

I'm a twelve year old girl who wants to help the people of africa, yet I don't know how to. I hear of all other kids who have done this and that, and I don't know how they do it. I want to do something to help, so if you've read this, please help me help other people :).

Olivia had a great suggestion. You should start something at your school and see if you can get your friends involved. The can help and not even know they are helping. You can ask your principal if you can organize a dance in the gymnasium. People pay 2 or 3 bucks to get in, and you donate the proceeds. You can also start a letter writing campaign. You, all by yourself, take the time to write a letter to business owners in your city. State your name and your age, the school you go to, and your cause. Go into detail about why you specifically want to help people in Africa, and what you plan to do with the money that they would donate. You can also send this letter to your friends parents and other relatives that live in other states. It touches peoples hearts that someone that is only 12 years old wants to get involved with such a large cause. Good luck and when this question is closed, let us know what you came up with! Are you involved in a Church? A lot of churches do have missionary work. They go to many different countries to help with food, supplies and medicines. Maybe you should start with some local charities like The Salvation Army, which does give a vast majority of the money taken in to people in need. The Red Cross and United Way have been shown to waste money. I wouldn't be involved with them. All charities need people to donate time.

So I guess you want to help by volunteering???
You may have to wait a couple of years before they let you participate in a direct hands on way, but keep working on it.
If so then find a charitable organization and tell them what you are interested in and if they are looking for volunteers for what you are looking to do then go with them.
A lot of churches have programs for doing charity work in 3rd World countries. I saw on the news just the other day were 3000 volunteers were building 100 houses in just 5 days in India. Here is a link where you might be able to go to to see 4 video clips on this story:

The charities work on 99/1 Basis that means every dollar you give only one penny will go to the victims.Stay away from charities if you can.

try and collect donations from other people start an organization or something!!!!! or u can join the peace corps, they go to underdeveloped countries and try and help do stuff, i wanna help africa no one gives a **** about it, some of the places are so beautiful over there especially the land!!!! no offense to white people if europe was in the same situation the us would do whatever to help i think that african-americans here need to help instead spendin they money on ther latest shoes every month!!!! $5 FROM EVERY BLACK PERSON ONCE A MONTH WOULD HELP SO MANY PEOPLE OVER THERE!!!!!!

Find an organization that raises money for African relief and offer to do volunteer work for them.
