do what's most convenient for you, but take your work/school/social schedule into consideration. having all 4 taken out at once causes considerable bruising and swelling that last for a day or two, as well as pain. also, most dentists don't prescribe more than ibuprofen for pain (although that may be just enough to help you). yet another thing to consider: your dental plan if you have one. some plans require you to pay for your procedures and then reimburse you. getting wisdom teeth pulled is not cheap, and with the holidays around the corner you might need that extra couple hundred dollars.
i would say get 2 done now, and make an appointment right away for the next 2. that will somewhat ensure that you go for the second portion of your prodcedure even though the first one was not fun . ;)

Honestly, when I had mine out I would much rather have not gone through that twice! BUT, even though I was terrified...it was not at all as bad as I feared it would be. And I'm one that used to cry over every appointment I'd have to go to...very much dentist phobic. The worst part really is after it, when you are at home feeling beat up for the rest of the day. So take it from me, while it wasn't great it wasn't the worst thing ever either.
If you can't take much pain, then see about having them taken out by someone who can knock you out for it. (An oral surgeon?) I was not about to do that, but I think that's what most people are doing these days.

I had to have all my wisdom teeth removed and instead of doing them all at once I spread them out over time because I was afraid of pain. If I had to do it again I would have had them all taken out at once. The nervousness and shear terror of anticipating each trip to the dentist made it worse.
Also do not get them pulled out with Novocaine or gas or whatever else they offer......be knocked out. I had one done with Novocaine and am still traumatized. And even though you have the Novocaine you still feel pain and pressure as the dentist pulls out the tooth.
Go the extra mile and find a dentist that will knock you out. When you wake up it will all be OK and though your face will be swollen and jaws hurt for a little while you will never have to go through it again.
I had two taken out the first time and it was no more pain then when I had 1 taken out while knocked out. Plus after the surgery they give you codeine so it is generally OK.

The pain is going to be the same with 2 or 4. And trust me you don't want to have to do it twice. You really need to get them done at once, or I promise you, you will never go back to have the other 2 removed. Hopfully yours won't be that bad if they are growing out. They should just have to pull them, with little cutting. Mine were under my other teeth, impacted, fused to my bone, with roots wraped everywhere. Not fun, but I was over it in 2 weeks. Really the worst part was getting over anesthesia, not the teeth. They can give you something for pain, but anesthesia just has to work it's way out of your system. I know I make it sound horrible, and you'll think it is at the time, but it's only a week out of your whole life. Trust me, the surgery is easier than what will come if you don't get them taken out. Best of Luck!

I just had all four of mine out about two months ago. IT SUCKED!!! Seriously, get them all done at once, because if you only get two out, you'll never be willing to get the remaining two out!! It doesn't hurt when they do it, they just knocked me out, and I was really ridiculous for a day afterwards, but the recovery (which was like 3 weeks) is not something I'd want to go through twice. Just get it all over with, I'm pretty sure the pain of two isn't much better than the pain of all four. Don't chicken out and not get any removed though, if they are coming in sideways, they could crack your surrounding molars and then you'd have even worse problems.

My dentist refused to do all 4 at one time. So a few years ago, I had two done, and it was alright but i had an allergic reaction to coedine and got sick, so therefore I never wanted to go back. Well 5 years later, I had no choice but to get the other two removed and it hurt alot more this time b/c i was older. If i were you, being that you don't like the pain and the needles, GET ALL 4 DONE AT ONCE and just get it over with, yes it will hurt and you will be in pain. But at least you only have to deal with it once and its over in a week or so.
Good Luck

If you cannot stand pain then get them all removed at once.
If your dentist says it is 'OK' to remove all 4 at the same time, then she would know.
She will only do what is best for you and she could charge you double for two appointments. I believe she is doing what is safe for you and to relieve you pain in the easiest manner possible.
Also your pain is because there is not enough room for all of your teeth. I needed my wisdom teeth removed years ago, I could'nt get it done. Now my bone... of my jaw... is going to rot. It is weak now, and if I get hit in the face my jaw CAN break. I do not want this for you!

I had all four of my wisdom teeth out at once. One thing I would highly recommend: laughing gas. It's pretty cheap and it helps tremendously. I'm highly afraid of needles and with the laughing gas, I didn't even know when they gave me novicane.
When they took me off the laughing gas, I couldn't feel any pain in my mouth. In fact, I only used one Vicodin. Ask your dentist about the option of laughing gas.
To be perfectly honest, you're going to feel a little bit of pain with this procedure, but that's legit, and if your dentist thinks your wisdom teeth need to be removed, I'd take his advice.
Good luck.

Do all 4 at once. I did, and wasn't TOO bad. Plus, you won't have to go under twice. You might chicken out and not go back and get the last ones taken out. The recovery time will be the same for 2 or all 4, so why not do it at once and get it over with?

I took wisdom teeth and I felt huge relief. They were bothering me all the time, especially when it is cold. They are useless, because they are at the back of the mouth. Also if you take some and leave some, those left will bother you.
My dentist usually prefer to keep several days or week between each extraction.
