My son was 5 when he stopped and it wasn't easy (or I was just lazy). This is what I did. INo drinks after 6:00 pm and right before he went to bed at 8 we took him potty . I'm a night owl so i retire about 11 or 12. before I went to bed I would wake him up and make him go again to the bathroom . If I woke up in the night I would wake him again and make him go potty. Over time he got into the habit and would get up himself to go or hold it until the morning. There are bound to be some accidents but consistency is the key. If he's older and still wetting the bed you can buy bed wetting alarms (your ped can give you more info) that attaches to the underwear. At the first drop of moisture the alarm goes off waking the child to remind him to go potty. I don't know if a 3 year old could handle an alarm or not I would try waking him first. Also get rid of the pull ups or diapers at night and get a cover for the bed. If he feels the wetness that will remind him as well.

OK, I have had this problem before. A 3 year old will have accidents regardless of what you do. To help train the child, I would use the disposable pull ups instead of expecting immediate results - that will take care of the bedding. I always made sure that the child goes to the bathroom before bedtime. You have to be insistent that they go - they will say they don't need to go, but you need to see results here - stay with them until you do. Also, suspend any soft drinks at least 2 hours before bedtime. Let them drink water or juice (control the sugar content). Be sure to encourage them that you know that he/she is a big boy/girl and that you expect him/her to nor wet the bed. If you happen to get up during the night, take him/her to the bathroom. It takes some effort, but a child this age will have accidents. The pull ups save your having to change bed clothes. When he/she gets up, change him/her to regular undies and expect them to go when they need to, but you will have to monitor it - it won't take care of itself.

try not giving him/her a drink 2hrs before bed have your child go to the bathroom right before bed and also buy tranning under pants so that it holds in the mositure and the bed does not get wet or even use plasic sheets over the matterss one or all of them may work but i feel the drink thing is the main factor along with the going to thebathroom right before bed

3 years old is much too young to be night time potty trained. Keep your little one in diapers or pull-ups for a while longer. His/her bladder control is just not developed enough to go 10 hours without urinating.

This is a medical condition caused by a slowly developing bladder. It is extremely common and you should see the doctor as there are treatments. It has nothing to do with your son and more to do with your and his father's families. A genetic slow bladder.
