The story of christ is itself a legend based on the combination of many various gods. Mithras was a Persian god who was born of a virgin on December 25, was visited at birth by magi, grew up and healed the sick, raised the dead, had a last supper with his 12 diciples before dying on a cross, rose to heaven three days later on Easter, and saved man.

The earliest Christian writings have no mention of a historical Jesus, let alone any miracles. It appears that the New Testament was written decades after Jesus is now considered to have lived.

And the part about Nazareth, Mary, and the manger, look to the Egyptian god Osiris and his mother Isis, also known as Meri.

The most popular response is that all of these facts were made up by atheists conspiring to confuse Christians. :)

I know that there are stories that could be seen as similar from an unbelieving perspective. No where was a man born stated plainly that He is God as Jesus did. No where are there the detailed prophecies given 200, 300, even 900 years before the event foretell it in such clarity. You go ahead and hold onto what is important for you I keep Jesus Christ as my God... Jim

All truth belongs to God. Piecing together similarities proves nothing. There were prophecies of the Christ in the writings of the Jewish prophets, so why couldn't there be foreshadowing elements in the legends of other cultures too? It actually gives Him more credibility...Jesus is not only the Messiah for the Jews, but the Savior of the world.

Jesus actually lived and died (3BC - 33AD)
The mixture of ideas was from Emperor Constantine who wanted to unite the Roman empire under one god and one emperor - so added all the myths associated with the pagan god and attributed it to Jesus so people will not tell the difference.

Don't confuse the Christians with the facts! Their little brain can't handle the reality that is all around them! That being their religion is man made crap!

Sometimes I am tempted to feel good that people like you won't be with me in heaven, but then I repent and ask God to forgive me because He loves you.
