Try calling different vets and see if they can reccomend a breeder in your area.

Whatever you do, please don't fall prey to anyone on this site that might try to sell you one - There are a lot of people trying to scam people here on YA right now

If you're interested in a puppy from a breeder rather than a rescue, just be sure you're getting a quality pup. Any breeder that doesn't ask you lots of questions about your lifestyle and how the pup will be raised and trained isn't interested enough in the puppy's health and welfare to have bred the healthiest possible dogs. Also, if you do have health or behavioral problems with your dog in the future, a caring breeder will be willing to help you as much as possible. A breeder that was more interested in how quickly you could write your check probably won't even return your calls.

You will probably need to take your mom with you to these breeders' because they will want to meet her. If she's asking for the dog, it's not like it will ruin the surprise, and it's worth it to get a good dog from a good breeder.

Here's a list of breeders:

Don't buy a puppy online! Get a dog from either petfinder.com or from a reputable rescue! Also, a dog is not a good gift for christmas. if your mom is really serious about a dog, it should be obtained at another time. dogs need time and quiet to settle into their new homes and christmas is NOT the time.

The dog breeders have been put out of business by well educated people that don't buy dogs from breeders!

Go to a rescue website such as www.smallpawsrescue.org and adopt one like a responsible person.
