Several paint manufacturers sell paints specifically for Kitchens and Baths. Benjamin Moore has one. These products typically have a little more mildewcide in them than regular latex wall paints. They are also usually satins or semi-glosses. You can also buy mildewcide additives (M-1 is one brand name) to mix into your regular latex wall paints. Both of these solutions will work but the ultimate fix is to make sure that you have enough ventilation in the bathroom to handle the moisture.

Absolutely. You should use a moisture repellant paint. Sico makes a good one for kitchens and bathrooms. It's the same kind of paint. It's also easier to wash and it's latex based so it's easy to apply also. You can get help at any paint store. They'll tell you what you need to know.

Well, you don't want to use flat or "satin" paint. Either semi-gloss or gloss will do; most people prefer semi-gloss because it has less glare. You can get the guy at the paint store to add an anti-mildew agent to the paint to inhibit mold & mildew.
Modern latex (water based) paint is just fine for bathrooms.

Not particularly, but the sheen is...try to use Semi-gloss or gloss what ever is your preference
the water base paint is good enough now that it is more widely used then oil, the durability and the cleanup...the later the most.
