I asked your opinion about what to do about my cockapoo who has an aggression/biting problem. I received 12 answers from the group, the majority of you said I had no choice other than to put him down. You were all very kind in giving me well thought out answers. Your responses gave me the strength to do what I've known I needed to do for the past year. I had Bailey put down last night. I have a very heavy heart right now and I have been crying a lot but in my heart I know it was the right thing to do. Thank you for your support and a happy holiday season to all of you.

I'm sorry for your loss.

It is especially hard when you have to put down a dog that is in good health and relatively young. Unfortunately, some dogs simply cannot be helped, and it is my opinion that a dog that feels the need to bite is not a happy dog.

I hope your Baily is at peace and is no longer bothered by his "demons" and I'm sure he is waiting for you at the Rainbow bride

I am so sorry about your loss. I adopted a dog last year and the shelter did not tell me about the problems he had. A few weeks into having him, he started biting me in the face. I hadn't had him that long but I really loved that dog. I had to have him put down. It was one of the hardest things I had ever done but I know that it was for the best. It really hurts..I feel like a dog killer but he's at peace now. It's o.k. to cry..Don't let anybody tell you it's not..I still cry and it's been almost a year. I am thinking of you

It may have been a very hard thing to do, but at least you can know you were not one of the losers that dump a problem like that on someone else or a shelter.
