Because he is the gentle as the Lamb and as strong as the Lion, when it needed he can save you, and when it is needed, He can put you in your place. That is why. He is the king, the lion, the Lamb, the Shepherd and so much more. Only you don't see it, or want to know.

Allah Has 99 names! ever wondered why, or you just like to pick on the Christians only. Get a life will you please and grown up.

Jesus Christ IS the Prince of Peace. He only preached to love one another, and not once did he preached for anything like war. He preach forgiveness, and Love. Love one another as the Lord Love you.

There has been wars done by the Christians. It was not because of Jesus Christ, it was against his teaching. Learn a little better. Jesus didn't lead or advocated one single war.

Jesus is said to be gentle as a lamb and strong as a lion. Each person choses a name for Him. Some like to call Him Holy Redeemer. Shepherd. Son of God, Savior & Christ. It is like this, to some, I am Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, Auntie, sister, cousin. But I am the same person.

He did so many things and is so great and powerful that the has pretty much a name for each of these things . The Lamb is a reference to being led by his choice to die for us. The Lion of Judah because he came from the area of Judah and the Lion part referring to his power. Holy Redeemer is to say that he is pure and came to cleanse us. Shepard because he leads so many to everlasting life (his sheep). Son of God to show how close a relationship he has with God. Savior saves us. And Christ means "anointed One". The names we give to Jesus are to honor and praise him.

There are many many names and descriptions given to God because of the vastness of His character. The reason is for us as humans to undersand divine things. People learn from the known to the unknown. To explain light to someone who has never seen is vitually impossible. Jesus said to Nichodemus, If I tell you earthly things which you have seen and you cannot understand how can I tell you heavenly things which you have not seen. God uses these analogies so that we can build our knowledge from what we know to what we do not know.
The lamb was used as a sacrifice to make atonement, so Jesus was God's lamb who was making aonement for the sins of the world, but the Lion is the ruler, the king of beasts, if you wish, and so Jesus was from Judah which was the ruling clan of the 12 tribes and the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. There are many that are far more complicated than that such as the High Priest according to the order of Melchezedek. Scholars still hassel over that one.

He has as many names as people choose to give him. He is something to everyone and everything to some. Including fairy tale, man-made, Savior, redeemer, lion and lamb. Just be glad he was here before they came out with the homeland security act where he would have to list all of his aliases for you. The list would be huge.

These words are used to describe to man the many different attributes of Christ. Yes, He is a lamb, when He died on the cross. But He is also, a mighty warrior, against evil. Each of the words you used to describe Him just makes it clear to man what He does and who He is. For example, "Shepherd" leads his flock. If you understand what a shepherd does in this life that is what Christ does with His people in caring for them. Its all to help you understand all that is He is for you, if you accept. Him.
