Do you even know what you are saying?
"al dente" means not quite cooked to being done.
"instant" means that they don't take as long as the ones that are not instant.
And no person that prides themselves on their grits eats instant.
I think you may mean they prefer natural or instant grits. But maybe you are that uneducated.
