why does one side of your nose block when you lie down and then you change sides and the other one blocks when you have a cold?

gravity pulling the gunk from one side to the other. it feels weird don't it! i like it, the little pop as one clears. heh.

It's all the law of gravity: the side of your nose closest to the ground will block up.

Cos the fluid (or snot) is heavier than the air in your nasal passages and so will drain to the lowest possible point.
