Smile and ask, "Why do you want to know?"

Once they've answered...just tell them, you prefer not to discuss it.

I don't like it when abortions are done, but I understand that it may seem like the best idea. In that regard, I'm both pro-choice and pro-life. I'd prefer if people choose life, but I wouldn't dream of forcing unhappiness upon the mother.

And if the mother is contemplating the abortion in the first place, then it's obvious that the best interest of the child does not lie with being in that woman's life.

That is what I would say normally.

Now, if I really wanted to keep that secret for some reason, then I'd politely remind the person that there are two things that are never discussed in polite conversation: Politics and religion. It's a hard-and-fast rule, like never asking a lady about her age or her weight.

Interestingly enough, I found many Christians opposed to abortion, even though it makes logical sense for their religion (see source).

Give them the facts, but be respectful and kind in the way you do it. few people are going to be converted by being told that their wrong. Remember, people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.

So when you share your view remember why you're doing it. because you genuinely care about that persons life and how damaging and dangerous the abortion can be.

Here are the facts. You would be killing an innocent life you're child. This is why many suffer such deep depression after an abortion because deep down they know what they have done.

Then tell them about SLED. Size , Level of development, Environment, and degree of dependency.

Ask them if these things affect Person hood. if that were true than A human is defined as someone who is about 6 foot tall, Exceptionally intelligent, living in the US completely dependent of all human help.

but we understand that this is not true and most people will agree and will start to think about these things.

The Psalmist wrote 13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.

Ignoring Evil will NOT make it go away, we must stand and resist, but with respect and Love.

You can simply inform them that you do not have a particular stance on abortion. Be prepared to get an ear full at times. After all, people who think killing babies is a right will think your crazy for no agreeing with them. Also, people who think no baby should be killed will think your stupid for not siding with them. In the end though, for most people this is not a critical issue. I am not putting people down who are crusading this issue, just being realistic. Most of us are not interested enough to fight over it.

First I would like to object to the wording of the phrase "Right to choose" this is is an incomplete thought. Right to choose what?
Woman should be able to choose allot of things. But I don't believe that people should be able to choose to murder innocent people, no matter if they are male or female.
Congress did not give woman the right to choose abortion, the supreme court did.

Just say I would rather not speak of politics right now.

Ok their is a pill you can take to prevent pregnancy from happening. A women knows if she has had unprotected sex, Go get the pill. I see no reason for abortion, I find it completely unnecesary. Why not get on the birth control pill, shot etc...? Rape-yeah I can understand somebody not wanting to carry that, but their is that little pesky morning after pill. If you know you were raped you should go to the hospital anyhow, they will give you this pill, Bam no pregnancy. Other than that women and men need to be responsible for theri sexual actions. Do not want to get pregnant, well their is a sure fire way 100 percent to prevent it STOP HAVING SEX!!!!

I say "I think it should be a legal for early pregnancies. However, I don't believe that anybody ever wanted to have an abortion. It is a sad necessity at best. So I think we should do absolutely everything we can as a society to teach responsible and safe sex, to provide birth control and disease prevention, and to support women when "accidents happen" with all the alternatives including abortion."

How's that?

I am not afraid to tell people that I am pro-life.
If you don't want to tell people what your opinion is on the issue, just tell them that. Say "This is a hot topic that everyone feels strongly about. You have your view and I have mine, there is a strong possibility your opinion might conflict with mine, so I would rather not get in a heated debate about something that we have both already made up our minds over."

How about these:

"Boy, this issue really gets people's juices flowing! Do you think the media is feeding the controversy?"

"Wow, you seem to have a strong opinion about this. Are you involved in some of the organizations that have taken this on as a project?"

"Do you think WC Fields was pro-choice? He said: "I love children, preferably boiled."

I'm against it. It's not like it's being used for mothers who's lives are in danger or incest and rape. That's only like 1% of it (and I've read several reports, thank you). I'ts mostly used as birth control.

I'd love to see it made illegal unless the mother's life is in danger. And to anyone who says, "Well, gee Steph, what if you were raped" I will keep the baby. It is a poverty that a baby should die to save your lifestyle.

Say that it is a personal matter and you choose not to discuss it. Usually that will stop people from prying. For me, I have no problem telling people that I do not believe in abortion.
