Yes. It is very important to have mentor, but it's as much important to make sure u pick the right person as ur mentor. Take ur carrier for example. If u want to be at certain position (say be Manager,President or CEO), then u want to make sure ur mentor is someone who is very success full person at that position. It's not enough to get position. If someone is manager it doesn't mean that he/she is qualified. may be that person's uncle is owner or president of company. Success full person is one who got the job because of qualification, knowledge, dedication, honesty, good attitude and hard work and most people respect that parson. Then u go to that person and ask to be ur mentor and explain why u want him/her to guide u. Have as much conversation as possible with him/her. Some times u may think u are qualified or suitable for certain job but in reality not everything for everyone. Ur mentor might think u could be better suited for some job u are not thinking of. Take advise and give it good thought. Keep in mind, not many things happen overnight. Be patience, ready to learn, explore new ideas and be open to accept different job openings. There might be something u never thought of and enjoy it a lot when u get it.
