I think you know the answer to that question and the answers given here affirm it. You've probably taken notice of how often the crusades are mentioned, even when it is obvious most people have only vaguest notion of what those events entailed. And you've probably taken notice of how swiftly any criticism of Islamic violence is dismissed as being misguided and ignorant.

I know Islam is a religion of peace and I know that not all Christians are full of hate. There are good peaceful Christians and there are good peaceful Muslims.. When I see a Christian or a Muslim who is full of hate I know that it is the individual who is bad, not the religion.

Chutia-Khan: Stop pretending to be Muslim and get a life.

Well I am a Christian. I really do not care about other 'religions' it changes none of my beliefs what so ever. I do not believe in mass religion, I think it creates a BIG problem. I am no judge over any particular faith. I do not feel one 'religion' as a whole is the problem. People are mean, nasty, spiteful, and vindictive, no matter their religion. I feel humans as a whole in general are, hard hearted. Many "claim" they are of a certain 'religion' that does not mean they are. Just because you are born into a certain religion does not guarantee your right to that religion. I have one concern that is God and I serve Him to the best of my ability.

I think there are extremists and hateful people in all religions and non-religions equally.

I think that SOME Christians that PREACH their hatred toward pro-choice, homosexuals, non-Christians, etc. are the most vile creatures in the world. I see more of them than I do Muslims who believe the same, but just DON'T TRY TO FORCE THEIR BELIEFS ON OTHERS.

There are extremist Muslims out there, but a VERY small percentage of a BILLION person religion.

Again, stop trying to point the finger at other religions for your short-comings.

wait, let me find Captain Syntax, he'll help you pose a more understandable question... hang on...

right,

religion, as organized by man, no matter what it is has the potential of instilling hatred in its members. a good christian cannot forget the inquisition, the crusades, and the witch hunts. these were good christians themselves doing what god wanted. hating their neighbours and killing innocent people. hm. so whether or not Islam is a religion of peace is immaterial; the fact is this: Christian history proves that "Holy Terrorism" is nothing new, and nothing foreign.

Technically, Christianity is also a religion of peace. The problem is that all religious people talk a better game than they actually play.

GOD IS ONE

Surely, those who believe and the Jews and the Christians and the Sabians - whichever party from among these truly believes in Allah and the Last Day and does good deeds, shall have their reward with their Lord, and no fear shall come upon them, nor shall they grieve

You know harp-person, I'm not sure that was the best way to phrase that question. But I'll let you figure out what may be wrong with it. (Hint:You don't seem, how shall I put it, "affectionate" toward Muslims.)
