How high is your ceiling? In this day and age you'll get different opinions from different designers so I would suggest doing what you think you would like. Try the real pale blue like the sky.

Definitely lighter. The darker it is, the more feeling that you feel the sky is coming down on your head!! The same thing with blue sky and black cloud on a rainny day, dud!

Paint it the same color as the walls...preferably a light color.
