Could a successful and meaningful relationship develop if the "couple" slept together the first night of meeting? Or would the relationship always be based on sex?

It could... but it depends on where those two people are in life. It seems that if both people just slept together right away, that they are more concerned with sleeping around and living that free lifestyle... but if both are tired of that lifestyle at the same time and are ready to get into a long-term relationship, then for sure the relationship could develop into something lasting. I'd say it matters more on the timing than on the people sometimes though... but the right people can definitely change the timing... you know what I mean?

I accidentally gave into a guy and slept with him on the first date because I was very attracted to him. We had a serious relationship for 7 months which wasn't just based on sex. I wouldn't advise it though because men think if you sleep with them on the first date that you must sleep with everyone on the first date. which we know is not always the case.

Depends on the persons involved. Successful relationships have sexual attractions, whic you obviously have. It will only become a sex based relationship if you let it. Do more; go to a concert, movie ect. talk and have fun together, dont just have sex.

Yes. My boyfriend and I talked online and over the phone for a week before we met, the first night we met we had sex. Now we are living together and completely happy. He is the absolute man of dreams, I have never been happier!

Love is something that is developed over time....what happens the first night is irrellevent. If you both wish to be together and you work at it (same if nothing happened) then your relationship can easily be successful.

I slept with my man on our first date i had knowen him for 4 wks before hand.. we are now married and been together 10 yrs in may .. so yeah its possible

sex so quick hides a lot of flaws in a relationship and many find themselves months down the road barely learning who the other person is and when they do it is often a painful breakup.

if before you had sex you made a good conversation then possibily yes.
plus, big and carrie got together on sex in the city and they had sex even before their date started.
