I guess it depends on how well she adjusts when she gets to the new school.
Make sure maybe the first day you bring her in and help introduce her to the new class. As well as the new kids she meets at the bus stop.
Might be a good idea to get her involved in Brownies or somthing like that too to help her with new friends outside school also.

Well I had the same issue a year ago. I moved to a different district with my 7 year old daughter as well. She was also very excited about making new friends. But she also missed her old friends. She adjusted very quickly, it was only a matter of a week or so. She kept in touch with her old classmates by writing to them via the teacher. Her old teacher was a great help. She had the kids draw up some pictures for my daughter and asked my daughter to talk about her new school when she wrote back. She has now been there for almost a year and loves it! Good Luck

My son went through this last year at the same age. He was very very popular in his old school even the 5th graders knew him!

It was very hard at first and there was a LOT of crying and fussing. I went into the class to help out. I do that every year though because it's important to me and luckily I can. Not everyone can.

Just ask her each night [until she tires of it and when she does she'll let you know] how it went. Ask her how SHE thinks she can make new friends and so forth.

Luckily my son doesn't have to take a bus so I really can't help you with that. I'd be worried about that they are so little. Maybe you can meet with the bus driver and tell her where to get off. Or pin a note to her, or just give her a note to give the driver so that she knows that your child gets off the bus at the right place.

Be there waiting, if you can't, then have someone she knows so that you can make sure she's home safely.

Good luck to you. Moving is so hard on us but harder on our little ones.

we just moved to a new state and school in august. My 8 year old daughter took about a week to adjust to everything and i thought for sure it would have taken her months to adjust cause she is such a moody person. But she shocked me and adjusted better than I thought. She is even getting better grades here then where we used to live and the gradeing scale is harder here.

We moved when my daughter was 7 and it took her a few months to adjust.

At that age...it's as simple as walking into the class...she'll make NEW friends easier than if she was a teenager (they can be so cruel- teenagers!!) It will take her a few days to get into the routine the class is in...and then..she'll be fine.

We had the same concerns when our 5 yr old started kindergarten this year...he walked through the door and made instant friends...

I continuously favor to ask my childrens what they imagine. they many times answer their personal question. also from time to time when I attempt to respond to it creates better questions. I agree on the Santa Claus action picture! except Santa doesn't eat wholesome each and every of the time in the action picture. save in thoughts at the same time as he is going to artwork and orders warm chocolate and cookies? p.s. They deserve cookies a minimum of once a 12 months, they have labored very puzzling to make others satisfied.

I moved from England to America when I was seven and had to start all over (learning money etc) It only took me a few weeks to fit in and get used to it.
