I am looking for people's answers who have a perm and straighten with a flat iron. What brand works best to get it straight and not frizzy. My vidal sasson worked fine for my hair until I got this perm(never getting one again). Now It cant get my hair straight enough and its frizzy, not smooth like it used to be before the perm.

It seems to me that maybe you got the wrong type of perm. I got my first perm about three months ago and I straighten it whenever I feel it's necessary. The name of the perm i got was Mizani, condition your hair every week because your hair is use to not being permed you are going to go through an ugly duckling phase with your hair but soon your hair will be able to adjust to the perm and the flat iron. Ask the people at the hair store about what flat iron to get but make sure it's ceramic.

One of my old friends got perms all the time a straightened her hair constantly. She used a Revlon straightener that was about $25 at the grocery store. It's white and it seemed to make her hair straight. I have curly hair and I used it too and it worked fine for me too. The best one I've ever used though was hot tools. The made one that smoothed my hair and didn't break it as bad as some of those others.

The fact that you have had a perm, would have no doubt dried your hair out considerably. So you will need to pay special attention to giving back to it in the way of treatments, leave in conditioners etc. I have naturally curly/frizzy hair and straighten it. And I use a serum like an anti-frizz (John Freida, works best for me) before drying with blow drier, then using straightening irons. And finishing with a shine serum....
Hope this helps.

I have a white Revlon straightener also. They do work really really good and are very affordable. I got mines for $17 or $18 dollars. I also have a small Conair straightener but I use it for mild straightening. I hope this helps...but hey remember that when you wash your hair...to make sure that it is COMPLETELY dry before straightening it or it'll frizz up b/c you still have moisture in it.

I have natural curly hair. I like to straighten it tho. Con-air works good. But you get what you pay for.
So you should spend a little over $30 for a good one.

the best way to go is the Ceramic hair straightener.. i like the CHI, but it's kind of expensive. but salon stores will have better ones than at retail stores... have them test it out on ur hair before u purchase! :)
