Well, your question is far too wide, but I will strive to give the best answer possible.
As far as I know, China is a very old culture, dating four thousand years ago ( perhaps more ) and evolved into an empire that lasted until the beginning of the XX century, when it became a republic. China developed many skilled scientists, writers, craftmen , and other thinkers.
China invented the gunpowder, the printer, the paper, the ink, and many other things long before Europe.
Chinese craftmen are very highly skilled, very patient, dedicating a very long time to things that a Westerner would not do.
Sadly, China later suffered a serious delay in its development that made it a backward country. Nowadays, regrettably still under the rule of a comunist goverment , China is showing a very fast transformation and it will be a highly industrialized country in a few years. China has a very large population. They are very hard workers, very skilled, and with vast resources.
All of the above means that the only thing they lack is democracy, but they have all they need to develop the country

I have never been to China but all that I have learned about it and the pictures I have seen and the Chinese people that I have met throughout my life...
I think China is an amazing country rich with history worth learning about. The photos i have seen of the countryside and the cities(especially the countryside) make me wish I could walk through the picture and be there.
Every Chinese person I have ever met was a fantastic person worth the time of listening to tell about their native country.
Hopefully someday before I die I would wish to see this beautiful country with my own eyes.

I spent six months in Hong Kong after the change over. Mostly I think of China as just big. Really mindblowingly enormous. Way too big for generalizations.

I have been to Taiwan (lived there for two years) and China (lived in Tianjin and Beijing). I like it.
There is an intresting cluture, I enjoy learning the language, and I have many friends who are Chinese. I like the snack foods (yang ruo chuanr is the best!) and resturant foods, I enjoy learning more.
